Seems I am seeing a lot of folks with problems that are going to require removal of the dash to fix. Be it a bad heater core. ac evaporator or cracked dash. I am stating this to let anyone know that this is NOT a difficult job as some would make it out to be. it can be time consuming but there is nothing special you have to do to accomplish this.No special tools are required, just standard stuff. Mike has a good write that I used and the LMC dash i bought had some good instructions to. I took mine out and replaced the dash and rebuilt the hvac box. I spent 2 to 2.5 days to do mine working at my leisure to accomplish it. I would recommend that if you have to go into your dash fore any of the above reasons, replace it all or you will just be back in there again. And again it is not hard to do just budget some time if you are unsure of yourself and the rewards will be worth it.

My heater is warm at best when the truck is at normal operating temperature, using a temperature sensor on my multimeter it's only about 100 degrees. Just had a new headgasket put on at a local diesel shop and the head machined and tested with no leaks or cracks in the head. Put a new waterpump and Cummins thermostat in it, not sure if it was a 180 or 190 but it runs right at 190 according to the dash gauge. What should be the normal temperature of the air coming out of the heater? And any ideas what to check?2001 3/4 5.9 L Standard output, rebuilt engine stock.

Have a 2001 2500 HD Diesel 5.9 Auto Tranny. I have a major A/C leak. Leaked down with in 4 months. Are there any common problems with the A/C's on this type vehicle? I am the original owner. I had freon put in in 2007 and 2009 and Nov 2010. Is there a likely area to look for the problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated.ThanksMohok

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 with 87k. It is now time for the defroster every morning, but I heard a strange clicking sound this morning while it was on, as dimming of my interior lights.Any thoughts?
