Should I buy a 2012 5.7 with 160k miles?

I had a 2001 with a 4.7 and loved it never had any problems. I’ve been looking to get back into another Ram for some time now. Found a really clean 2012 crew cab but it’s got 160k miles. maintence records are key.  Does it have any to show that it was cared for?

 

I would be less worried about the miles than I would the upkeep.

Yeah, if he has maintenance records, it would be better. Though if you know your stuff then you check the engine yourself and better scan it with an OBD2 scanner.

looking for maintence records is more than just showing that something was done. It is to help see the type of person you are buying from.  If a owner keeps records of stuff then you know that cared about the vehicle.    Someone with an attachment to a vehicle is likely going to be more forthright and more proactive about things on the truck.
