Hi guys, I'm looking for recommendations but I've got some specifics I'm looking for. I have a 2016 2500, 6.7, 68rfe with 3.42 gears.
I'm not looking for high HP tunes. I'm looking for high quality tunes, increased mpg when empty(post injection needs to go!) and trans programming for when I am towing.
And I have one specific thing I want done, if possible. I want the current gear displayed in drive automatically. I have reached out to two different reputable companies and they both said it's done with alfaobd, but that seems to be only true with a 2019+(yes there were informed it's a 2016 upfront) anyone have this done through tuning or alfaobd?
This is my first 4th gen i finally needed to replace my 2nd gen due to rust, but i will be able to get the last 7k on it this summer so it hits 500k..

I have a 2016 with 3.23 gears.

I believe a stock 2016 truck came with 3.42 gears.  Did you make a change?

I don't have the answer, but my neighbor would like to do the same with his 2011 truck.  I am not sure how that would work, because even in the manual mode, the gear number displayed in the dash isn't necessarily the gear the transmission is in - it is the gear the transmission is limited to up shifting to.

Which transmission do you have - 68RFE or the Aisin?

The dash changed in 13, and my 16 has the fancier one. They display current and max at the same time but only if you f with the gear setting. It's pretty dumb you have to screw with it to display it every time.

Are you running stock tire size?  The reason I am asking is if you are running a larger diameter tire than stock, this will work against tuning your truck.  You already have tall gears, and bigger tires would make things worse.  A 3.73 axle ratio would be more suitable, as the top two transmission gears are overdrive gears.
