NO horses allowed to compete (unfair advantage). All horsemen know that after a horse has been bathed, brushed, trucked for miles & saddled up, he'll immediately throw a shoe!

A shoe may be no more than 7 1/4" wide and 7 5/8" long, and weigh no more than 2 lb 10 oz without the horse!

Ringers score 3 points, leaners and others within 6" of stake count 1 point. Double score from shoes thrown from horseback.

The pitching stakes are to be 14" high and 40 feet apart, and are not to be confused with Belmont Stakes or Sirloin Steaks.

Shoes thrown with the horse attached will not count, however no one will mess with the person so doing!
