2001 2500.  Has a leak since new. Dodge had it in 12 times in the first 5 years. I finally gave in and got a charge kit. Back then it needed a chg every 6 mos.  Now it is up to every 30 days. Tried some canned stop leak. Tried dye and black light. finding nothing. Is there a hi teck sniffer leak detector that could be rented? Can not see into the interior ac compartment. How likely the leak to be in there? Checked for dye around compressor and all connectors and every line except the wrapped lines.  Any help?

I picked up a set of those, and a new set of the bigger plastic ones on sale. Next time I do an AC job I'll see how well they work.

I used the napa set. I was using one that was too small. It looked right for that size line. I also started trimming the angle. Then I tried the next larger remover. It was sloppy loose on the line but released the connector.

Well, I thought I had it fixed. 6 weeks till to low. Mike said the sealing caps would not prevent leakage if the QD leaks. just ordered low press suction line, that contains the charge QD, and compressor. Hate just changing parts but everything else checks out ok.        Note; the evaporator showed no sign of a leak. It was nearly 1/2 choked off by leaves and debris. The heater core was leaking so trip into the heat/air box was not wasted.
