First time to post anywhere but he second gen forum so here goes. I’m working on a 81 C70 tandem axle dump truck with the Chevy 427 v8 engine. I have to pull the engine out as it needs replaced and I’m curious if anyone else has done this? Anyone take the cab off or what? Any tips or suggestions would be awesome!

Hood off, engine out.  That block should look tiny in that engine compartment.  Ensure your hoist can lift high enough to clear the core support, or take the grille off.  Or take the front tires off and set the axle on the ground.

Planning to pull grille and radiator first thing. Yes it looks very small in the compartment. Lol. Thanks for the tips!
