I have a 2004 ram 2500 slt 5.9 automatic. Truck has ABS code 84 Vin Mismatch. ABS and Brake light are on and of course ABS does not function. No other codes in the truck at all. Every place I have called which repairs ABS modules, says they can not repair that issue. Chrysler discontinued the part. Supposedly it needs programmed. Local dealership said they can not re-program the ABS module.
I have read you can swap it out with one from another truck as long as the part number is the same. I pulled one out of a truck my neighbor has and the part number is the same. Issue is still present.
Anyone have any input on how to resolve this issue? Checking wiring diagrams, does anyone know which wire the module uses to pass information to the ECM? Or if they even communicate to each other to verify VIN?
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
