I got one for my son for Christmas this year.... What a hoot! I got him the basic starter truck, with brushed motors, nimh 3000 mah batteries.. Even in this configuration, this thing is awesome. This one supposed to be 30+ mph.. fast enough to out run the dog! The engineering, and materials are out of this world... not to mention the myriad of possible 'upgrades'...(can you tell... I'm new to RC?)who would ever thought you can link an 'i' device to the controller, and have data (dashboard) right under your nose... complete with GPS accurate mph?.. (who would have time to look???)
just need to add the proper sensors, and can veiw rpm, batt temp, motor temp, batt volts, and mph (with gps device). I suppose after a 'run' you can go and download the whole performance and map out the course, and what the machine was doing at various stages...I spotted a couple of Youtube vids of guys who mount dash cams, and record the whole run.... geesh, at close to 100 mph, and a camera mounted 2 inches above the road surface.. those lines on the road are just a blur! I wonder if these guys are running the car from a static position, or are 'chasing' the RC with a car? Those models are hard road (and very smooth)... I got more of the off road 'fun' kind!I got my wife a new washing machine. woot.
