smarty jr question???

When I turn my key to run possition my lp runs about 5 to 8 seconds normally then stops before i start the truck. Now that I installed the smarty jr when I turn the key to run the lp keeps running til i turn the key back off is this normal???

Have you tried returning the truck back to stock to see if it still does it? I wouldnt think the Smarty would cause your lift pump to run. Sounds like a question for John hes the CR smarty guru!

The length of time the LP operates is also based on temperature, and being cold it should run longer. In addition the Jr will update your ECM with the latest Chrysler software, which may have been a change from your previous software. Either way it sounds normal to me.

Brian from Smarty said its new programming as long as the keys is in the on position it will run

Not on my truck. There was no change to the way the lift pump cycles with my truck with the latest update, on the Jr or S06. When it's very cold it will run for about 30 seconds, but should shut off.

Interesting, I wonder if that's a 03-04 vs 04.5-07 thing???

I dont know but it bugs the hell out of me. If I turn the key to on to change guages in the insight the lp will not stop running
