On my 2000 24valve i keep blowing the metal transmission line that is closest to the firewall that is coming from the torque converter cooler that is mounted to the passenger side of the block. Both times it ruptured at interstate speeds. Can anyone offer any ideas?

Sounds like there may be some sort of blockage in the cooler? I don't really know much about automatics but that seems like the first place I would start.

any ideas to upgrading to a new location. doesn't seem like under turbo is very efficient in cooling. or does anyone offer a different style heat exchanger?

I assumed that the passenger side line is the return to the trans and should not have pressure. I also thought, that coolers purpose was to bring the oil back to engine temp if the air to oil cooler cools it too much in the winter.
