Mobile Skin

Ok Gang.

Mobile usage is climbing on the site. The mobile users are now 52%, desktop is barely 40% and tablet users are almost 8%. Now using more data from Google Analytics I'm going to base my skin design off of the most popular device which happens to be both iPhones and iPads. So now looking up the oldest and smallest screen size for iPhones its 960x640. Which is really easy to work with. But Funny part is there is several other phones or mobile devices with a screen as small as 320x480. This becomes a huge challenge to work with but I'm going to keep check my skin against this mall size to be sure not to exclude small devices.

Does it cost the site more money when I stay logged on and walk away from the computer for awhile?

No. The server automatically disconnects from users after a period of times and there is no data used or sent so nothing happens.

Here is what I mean about skinning for small mobile devices.

Anything over 1,024 pixels wide should be on the desktop skin (Family) and anything under 1,024 pixels should be on the mobile skin (Family Mobile).
