  1. We are in the end times. I moved out on my own in 1998. I bought a TV and it sat in the corner, so I donated it to my church. So for 28 years, I've been tv less. I read the bible, do topical studies and meditate. All I can say is our society is backwards and upside down. The change I've witnessed in the general sense of morality since the early 90's is staggering, and it wasn't grand then. We are approaching the point where children will be bitter enough to betray their parents to death. I have a lot of Slavic friends, the baptists, the one's who did jail time for going to church. They see through what's going on in Ukraine and Russia now, but they don't understand it. Our country is engaged and is infuriating other countries all around the world. It won't be long before our "lovers turn against us". It won't be long before we cast our money in the street we just can't spend as much money as we are, and expect not to collapse. All of these things will take place before Christs return, and there is nothing we can do to prevent it. All we can do is live our lives, and provide a good answer when appropriate, and be a force for good. Hopefully we will have a spiritual re-awakening, but I just don't see strong signs of it. As far as the nightly news, every mainstream story you've read, watched or listened to since at least the 1950's has been crafted by our government, except for local news like kitty is stuck up in a tree. Every TV show, every movie in some way has been crafted to get us to accept something. The more you tune in the more you reflect whats on the screen. However, if you know the propaganda game, and look at both sides you can generally figure out what's really happening. I know from the propaganda outlet of youtube that the US is running the Ukraine war. Zelenski is the CIA's plant, and a really good actor he is. We are just grinding down Russia's resources, but in spite of all of this, I still don't know where it's going to end. I suspect the US will grow tired and pull out, like we tend to do everywhere else when things get tough, and our politicians feel they have fleeced us enough.
  2. I stand corrected, I actually did not do the parallel battery mod. I was conflating upgrading the alternator ground lead to the battery with the parallel battery mod. Passenger battery has another 1/0 lead going to passenger side engine block. I did have yet another flare up of the check engine light, this time no TC lockup issues, but a TP signal low code. I pulled the APPS bellcrank and all and removed the apps sensor plug, sprayed silicone lube and plugged it in and out a few times, cleaned the mounting surfaces and cleaned up the bolts, and slathered them up before tightening them. lastly I cleaned up the grounds going to the timing gear housing. No problems since, and it's been 3 days. Moral of the story: keep them clean.
  3. Yes I did the WT mod and parallel battery mod at the same time. This recent round was due to neglect on my part. I washed the engine several times without slathering up the terminals. I'm running Costco battery's and they tend to seep at the posts. I should be due for batteries next year, I'll search for recommendations. I don't think I want to go the cheap route again. It's clear to me this little electrical tunup will be necessary on a regular basis. Although this time I did slather up all connection points to the alternator, batteries and grounds. I've been using the purple terminal protector, I think permatex makes it. I see some of you are using oil. Anything to keep the moisture out and keep them sealed up. I should probably revert back to dielectric grease, nothing beats that stuff for preventing galvanic corrosion.
  4. Update on my truck. About a month ago I started having the TC lockup and apps code appear again. I just cleaned the ground on the alternator negative lead, replaced the military style terminals due to corrosion, cleaned the battery posts, and battery cables ends, then slathered them all up with the anti corrosion spray. It fixed everything again.
  5. I made my set 2 years ago, and did the military style connectors. They are basically future proof, and make incremental upgrades really easy. It's the best mod i've done, as I've had zero issues since. I have a battery cable crimper, so I try and reuse what cable I have, assuming it's the right guage. About a year ago I did a 340 amp mechman alternator as I kept having alt failures from the napa lifetimes. The 1/0 alternator leads from alt to passenger battery and the ground mods fixed all the random check engine lights, and the TC lockup issues I would get during the last few months of each alternator. Since that time, the truck has been through the weather of the PNW and had the chance to take it down from Washington through ID, and down to southern Utah/Arizona. I bought the truck in 2019, and the mechman is the 7th alternator that's been in since I've been working on it. Each time they started producing the A/C volts as confirmed on my fluke.
