  1. Have you checked our oil? If an injector was leaking and losing your prime on fuel it would fill up the combustion bowl on piston and full the crankcase which could be bad if it got to far out of hand. But once again it wouldn't make sense that it started
  2. Me to. And I sure started thinking the truck should've broken my legs cause I thought my gf was going to finish the job that the truck started when I told her lol. She calmed down when she heard that I was up and walking. And between me and her idk who is more upset about the truck damage me or her lol. After I get back from Nashville I will prolly end up going and getting the new shoes for park brake.
  3. Hate to say it but it almost seems like an injection pump. But that is an ify idea since it started and then quit. Can you here fuel transfer pump running? Turn ignition on and bump the starter, transfer pump should run for 20-25 seconds.
  4. Well I had a major case of bad luck this morning. I had truck loaded and trailer hooked up to carry off a load of scrap metal and went out to start the truck while I checked tires and straps. I had brake brake set and a block in front of trailer tires. shut the door and started back to trailer and the d**n park brake let go with truck facing down hill and then the trailer rolled right over the block and truck took off down hill. I tried to catch it but ended up falling and getting run over by back truck tires and trailer tires. I had to lay there and watch my truck roll through a small thicket of brush through the barb wire fence twice and the hit a tree. I couldnt get up as my leg was hurting so much and all I could was I broke it. I finally started to feel my leg and could move a little. Finally able to get up and limp down hill to check on truck that was still running. Looked for leaks and gathered up what had fallen off trailer and moved truck and looked at the rest. I know have another big dent in bed of truck, alot of scratches from the barb wire, a chip in windshield, busted grill, and the new bumper I put on now needs the new plastics, and it messed up my fuel pressure guage somehow. I am ok and just have a slight limp anymore. Good thing it didnt mess up my knee that just fixed 4 months ago(hence why I fell as hamstring still isnt as strong as it should be).Has anyone else park brake just let go at random moment?
  5. Where did you get your big line kit from and are you running a draw straw or hooked to factory tank module?
  6. Yea Deere batteries are expensive but I haven't heard many problems out of them on stuff that gets used regularly. When one of these crap ones on my truck goes bad it will be seeing two Deere batteries. I run a lot of Deere parts but I also get my discount lol. I picked up 4 oil filters this month for 8 bucks a piece lol:thumbup2:
  7. Ok the new lift pump got here today and I got it all put and a lot happier with Wat I saw and heard. With the new pump you can hear it hum when it's running as with the other you almost had to get under the tuck to hear it. Fired it up and PSI jumped to 12 at idle. Let it idle and checked leaks and then went down the road with it. At WOT turning 3000RPM which is VERY rare for me the it holds steady at about 5PSI and just cruising down the road at 65 it hovers between 8-9PSI. A whole lot better than it was but I would still like it to be higher just can't afford it right now.
  8. Last I checked they were pretty pricey just because when the new switch is put in it has the newer style key so the old ones arent needed anymore except by those that have a tractor with that key switch
  9. Custom work is always nice to see. Have ya'll changed out the key switch yet? I have been trying to find an old forked key like that one would have but they are hard to get.
  10. Should be a 190 degree thermostat. you can get a 180 but most factory ones are the 190.
  11. True but there is always a nice way to go about it lol
  12. Needed a good laugh lol - - - Updated - - - I can see the headlines in paper. "Cop arrests man after truck dripped oil on donut" or I'm sorry of the oil officer it's just that I read for better mileage I needed to reduce wind drag and I just figured if the whole truck was covered in oil the wind would just glide over and be good for 5+MPG. lol
  13. Thats a nice old Deere. Is that an original factory cab or aftermarket? If it is a factory one that is a rare find(atleast around here it is lol).
  14. I wasn't trying to seem like I was attacking you I was just confused as that is what the package said. Kinda worried me at first when you said that lol. I know how you feel with long hours. I work 10 hour days five days a week and half days on Saturday with a hour of drive time each way. I will be so far behind when I go back to work I will prolly have an extra 20 hours on top of all of those hours.
  15. Yes and I have opened it up even more than were I was originally reading that pressure thinking maybe it was restricted. I had heard the pimp run and it didn't sound good an that is why I got gauges mainly. I had kinda prepared for it ahead of time lol - - - Updated - - - My post are getting out of order for some reason. My last post was saying yes about a needle valve. No I am not running ISSPRO gauges it is a Glowshift electric gauge. I have the new pump ordered. Tried to find a mechanical gauge but no one in this town carries one for diesel. They have all been for gas
  16. It is after the fuel filter but I just had the filter out yesterday and it was still clean. Had a few dark spots but not enough to cause that much restriction and it only has about 1500 miles on the filter
  17. Well I got hit again today with a bad part. Got all my gauges hooked up yesterday and was waiting on the intake elbow gasket to get here before I run the truck. It came in this morning and I got it all back together and primed the fuel system. Let it idle for a couple min and looked at my fuel pressure gauge and saw this I checked every part house in town and no one ha the pump at a reasonable cost and none would price match an online competitor price. Called the Cummins dealer in Memphis and he priced me one for 160 an said he would ship it to me for about 10 dollars. Went ahead and ordered it since a don't have the money to put on an AD or Fass right now. The new pump should be here tomorrow. P.S. That pressure is at idle. I took it for a short drive to see it it would improve and it would hover just above 0 at 55MPH.
  18. That ain't ever good. You may get lucky since you still had a half tank of diesel. It would seem that you could just pump out that and replace a long as the E85 doesn't eat up the orings and or clog the injectors. Be sure the change all of your filters out and if they can for a relatively low price run a fuel system cleaner through it. John Deere has some that the motor will run off of and you just unhook supply and return lines after the filter and run engine til it almost runs out of the cleaner. Hope everything goes good
  19. I kno the feeling. Getting enough firewood to heat a house will keep anyone busy
  20. That is a tap from Napa and had no problems with that bit size
  21. I will try that since the one off my gasser won't fit. The threads are different on cap.
  22. If you have everything you need to do them it won't take as long as it took me. I spent close to 5 hours total but I'm also very anal about not having any wires showing. You will have to drill a hole in factory pillar to run wires through. I did mine even with where the bottom fell that way it was a pretty straight shot. The three gauge harness will make things a lot easy if you got it. For boost gauge hookup don't drill in your manifold or anywhere. There is a plug next to your map sensor head that is a 3/4 pipe thread. Get the reducers and you can hook on there. When you drill for the exhaust probe you will need a 5/16 drill bit and the 1/8 NPT tap. When you do drill and tap dip both the drill bit in grease and the tap. Go slow with the drill bit or you will fling the grease off. And when tapping the hole you will have to clean the tap out several times since the grease will hold the shavings. And for the fuel pressure I order big line kit from Vulcan. It is all simple just time consuming if you do it right.

Yea welcome to the site man. Everyone is willing to help if they can usually.
  24. I do everything from piddle on my own things to do work for other people whether it is tractor or truck. Been fooling with my ATV lately while off of work. I have had to rebuild the head and I put a winch on it to. Hope to get out and ride it soon. Want to get on a dyno with the truck soon but Idk where any are that are close other than St. Louis, MO.
  25. Ok I was at Autozone earlier and just happened to question which fuel caps they had as this is where i had bpught the new one that is on the truck. He looked up the options of ones for my truck that they had and I found out that the one I bought a while is not a vented cap. They have a lockable vented cap but it is $20. My 98' Ram 1500 has a factory cap on it. Could i use it and see if it makes a difference. Idk if it being from a gasser will make a difference or not.
