  1. Ok, picking up the 2790 tomorrow , since this filter has no wire on the inside to hold the media, has anyone had any problems with the media coming apart and entering the engine ?
  2. Ok, I'm not that technical, so should I BHAF or no. My truck is stock HX35, #10 plate full forward, boost elbow @ 32psi, 4" turbo back exhaust, ATS stage 2 trans, 4.10's. 97 4x4 longbed.
  3. Can't answer that, but bases on replies here there should be no negatives to running the Napa 2790 with outer wares on my truck. No real gain over stock but no loss either , just longer filter life . Sound correct ?
  4. I've been told by a friend of mine he had a 25 hp loss using a BHAF . Based on research I find that hard to believe. I'm about to put one on my truck this next week and like to know if I should proceed or not.

  6. I used the CSF in my jeep. They are a well made radiator. I would get one of them for my 12 valve if I ever need one.
  7. 97 12 valve, 4.10 gears, 285/75/16's, stock HX35, boost elbow at 32psi, 100 plate set in middle, star screw so I get a slight haze on full throttle , 4" turbo back exhaust, I run 1900 rpms @ 65 mph = 6-8 # on boost , 8 is with a slight grade . EGT @ around 650-750. Put it to the floor I can hit 32psi boost and 1450 egt.
  8. What change will I see ? 97 12 valve with 100 plate in middle position. 4" turbo back exhaust. star-wheel adjusted so I get a mild haze under full throttle. Stock HX35. Will I loose power ? Higher egt ? Should I leave it in ?

  11. I'm running #100 plate , 32 psi boost elbow on the stock HX35, 4" turbo back exhaust, Star wheel set about half way, just get a mild haze on heavy accel. Just looking for a little more power and some lower egts. That's the reason for upgrading the turbo. ATS says head studs not needed with the 3000, so I'm not sure. Open to more input as this is all new to me.
  12. Not sure, what do you suggest on the head gasket ? I am looking at upgrading my turbo and don't want to lift the head. Currently looking at an Aurora 3000 from ATS.
  13. Looking at putting in head studs in my 97 12 valve. What's involved, do I have to tap any holes etc. any recommended brands ?
  14. Ok, so turbos are new to me, based on what you told me can you give me some names/ models/ sizes of turbos you would recommend other than the Aurora 3000 ? Truck is a daily driver/ work truck with towing being limited to the Rzr on a trailer a couple times a month .The 100 plate I have set in the middle, star wheel adjusted so I get a very light haze under full throttle. At 55-65 mph if I floor it to pass someone I can easily get the pyro up into 1300-1450 degrees. Same thing if towing the rzr up a steep grade, i have to back out of the throttle to keep the EGT below 1250. I like the 100 plate as it seems I have more get up and go than the 10 plate I had in. So thinking the right turbo can give me more power throughout the rpms and keep my EGT in check. Any help is greatly appreciated .
  15. Stock 97 ( original Kalifornia truck), 100 plate, boost elbow (32psi), pusher intake, 4" turbo back exhaust, 4.10 gears, 285/75/16. Long bed 4x4. ATS stage 2 trans. Looking at the Aurora 3000 turbo to replace the stock unit. Looking for a little more power and lowered EGT when towing . I tow a 6x12 trailer with a 1200 # side by side.Thoughts/ experiances/ suggestions ?
  16. I've used the Duplicolor Truck Bed Liner aka rattle can style for bumpers, rockers in the past. Use POR 15 first and then Duplicolor on top. Durable, won't rust and easy to touch up.
  17. I've heard that to fit the 2001 alum wheels on the 97 you have to grind the rear brake drums a 1/4" or so, I'd rather not do that. If its a direct swap that would be awesome.

  19. I've got a 2001 2500HD with aluminum wheels, wondering if they will swap onto my 97 ?
