low power and trouble rev'ing
Hey guys, sorry I got busy at work. I went ahead and got a Timbo APPS. Put it on last night and what a difference it made! I wasn't throwing any codes, but the new sensor smoothed out my acceleration and now it will rev above 2k. The true test will be when I pull a trailer. But I'm confident that it was the problem. Thanks for all your help. Also, got all my rotors turned and new pads this last weekend. So now it will go and stop! ha

low power and trouble rev'ing
No DTC were detected. All terminals and positive and negative cables checked out good. I also reseated all the Edge connectors. I test drove and no change. I'll try to bypass the Edge tomorrow. Do I now check APPS voltage per Michael's write up "Stock APPS Sensor Voltage Adjustment test"?

low power and trouble rev'ing
Oh okay good. Thank you. I thought it was something I needed. I don't know if this is important or not, but after traveling for awhile, when I come to a red light, my truck will idle at 900rpm. It take several seconds for it to idle down to 825 or so. Any recommendations or write up on checking the charging system? Thanks for your patience. Vehicle electrical is not my strong suit.

I didn't get a chance to scan for codes last night. I did calibrate my pedal last time I had the batteries disconnected. I do NOT have a noise filter on the PCM. Do you have a write up on this? APPS is a good thought. I'll look up Michael's write up and test this weekend.

low power and trouble rev'ing
Thank you. I'll check all the Edge connectors. Then try removing it. Fuel pressure is a constant 15-16psi. Fuel filters were just changed 3000 miles ago. I really don't drive this truck that much (I have a company vehicle). Bad fuel: this has been going on for a long time. A year or so. I'll scan for codes tonight.

low power and trouble rev'ing
Hi guys, Concerning my truck below in my signature.....When driving the truck in any Edge tune, the truck is hard to rev above 2000 rpms. This is while driving normal and not hotrodding the truck. If I floor the truck, sure it will rev up beyond 2000rpm, but during normal driving the truck accelerates nicely until 2000rpm then just falls on it's face while maintaining my pedal position. This is even more noticable while towing a trailer. It's hard to get my rpm's up to grab the next gear. I have experimented with all Edge tunes and doesn't seem to matter. My boost appears to be fine. EGT's are good. BTW, i am only getting 16mpg highway or city. Time for injectors?? Thoughts? Thanks.

Pcm Question '92
If I remember correctly, a new PCM was $250.

Pcm Question '92
Thank you mulcher812. I ordered a new pcm, replaced it last night, and that fixed the problem. Now that all the electrical problems are fixed.....onto everything that is leaking. The joys of having a truck sit for 2 years.

Pcm Question '92
I'm wondering if I just have a bad or malfunctioning ECM. It's a reman from O'Reilly's. Can anyone with a 1st Gen please see if their PCM has a hum to it after you cycle the key? It's not very loud, but noticeable with the hood up. Thanks, Ian

Hello From Tx
Hey guys, Just posted my first post in 1st Gen Powertrain. Been getting advice from this site for a few years now by searching! It all started when I bought my first diesel 2 years ago. It's the 2002 below. I'm near Fort Worth.

Pcm Question '92
Hey guys, this is my first post, but I have been searching and reading this forum for a few years now. I acquired a 92 dodge (see sig below) cheap because it wouldn't charge. I replaced the alternator and PCM. Then replaced the ducks foot with maxi fuses etc. in that order. My question is: after I replaced the PCM, the PCM would continue to hum after the key was turned off. After I rewired everything today, the PCM continues to hum with the key off. If I pull the neg battery terminal it stops obviously. If I pull the 30A fuse for Circuit A14 the hum will stop. It takes me cycling the key to get it to start humming again. It doesn't seem to time out. Is this normal? Thanks.
