aaaaand... Fail. Still no go. Was praying it was the parts.... If the PV1 is bricked will it still talk to the PC and go through the loading procedures? Does anyone have the older version of software to back-date to?

Ok... I powered up my other other computer... I thought it had 7 on it but it had windows xp pro. I DID get it to upload the update to the P1. everything went smoothly. No issues or hiccups. I also got the ADR to update too. However... Im on my third attempt at uploading to both and the damn thing still doesnt work. Either no ability to edit (all ZEROS again) last time the thing wouldnt even power up. Trying again...... I was thinking about buying the parts for the ADR and replacing them just for grins and giggles.

I bought this forever ago from Extreme Diesel. Totally legit. It was probably 4 years ago. It worked until recently. After my truck was having huge battery issues. That's why I had thought a jumpstart killed it. The Van Akken thing has always shown up for me as the driver details when you plug in the Commander or the ADR. However. Once their software loads up the driver it changes the name of the driver. I am wondering if Van Akken wrote their software or maybe the drivers? Maybe that has something to do with their disappearance? At any rate, I did find the update that I downloaded from quadzilla forever ago. The one that fixes the temp reporting issues. That's the one I can't load. Is the one from the download site the same as the one I have from Quadzilla?

Any idea on what this Van Akken guy has to do with the ADR?? I see online Van Akken has their own tuners. They even advertise" diesel tuners. However they have NO tuner listed for my truck.

Oh. Damn. I wish I knew that lol. I saw the link on this post then a few other forums. Although they had your old link address. I scoured the download site but those wweren't on there. No idea they would be under full download ink. Thanks! As for loading... I followed the instructions to a T. Per the instructions it seems like you aare supposed to get the driver install request before plugging the commander in. I don't get that until I plug it in. When I do I recognises a "Van Akken Commander" and I follow driver install. The loading status bar completes but it sits with the bar 100% filled and hangs. Then I can't do ANYTHING on the computer. It may just be the old crap computer too. Not sure. I can successfully upload different tunes to te ADR module with my 8 core windows 7 laptop. However I can't even get a driver request from the Commander like I do on the xp machine.

I looked for the Pulse updates on there but only the ADR tunes were on there. I tried the .N.NET stuff. Didn't help. My xp computer hates me. Couldn't get it to finish loading the driver files. Sits there moving papers from one folder to another. Lame. Dunno Wtf to do.

Aaaaaand my sharty xp computer freezes at the driver file download thing... I am downloading the .NET framework crap hoping that will fix it.. if not... Ill be lost.

ACK... i cant find my PV1 updates!!! Never mind i found it!! It was deeeeeep down in my folders.

Ill have to see if i still have the PV update then....

Not sure if this will work... I uploaded the tunes I have saved. I was instructed by the Quadzilla support guys to run the COMP tune with my injector upgrades and such. Some of these tunes fuel hard! They are all the OEM ones off the old Quad site. Not sure how available they are but I figured I would share them. The 3k tunes blew may have lead to my head gasket failure.... However its studded and rung now so... That is exactly what is happening... Im going to have to reread the tune load info on this forum. I do NOT have any XP machines anymore except a desktop. If i remember correctly, doesn't the PV1 need to be plugged into the truck to update it? So a desktop does no good.

I bought the parts you linked to and listed. I figured I could just replace them as caution. They don't test out right on a meter. Also don't test out like the new ones. However. The OEM ones and ones you list have a different number on the face of the chip. Are they still the same?

I tried doing custom tuning... It let me change the settings but when I hit the "enter" button (bottom button) it went to the prior window and everything was at "0" still. It wouldnt take any custom settings. All my "gauges" work though.... Although, the water temp goes to ZERO when it gets above like 202* I thought I fixed that with the update.... its been so long though, i dont remember.

Ok... I just verified.. I can move through all the menus perfect. Up down, select, this that... However, I can NOT change tune levels. Also, when i plug in the the tune I heard a relay "pling" so i opened the fuse box and pluging the tuner in causes the "fuel heater relay" to momentariy click on. It does shut back off but its a quick thing. Ive had other wierd things happen before also... The first one started when i got "chinese projector headlights" after installing them the fog light switch would turn on the bright headlights. It seems to be caused by the crappy chrome housings shorting against the headlight bulb body. The LED halo also lights SUPER dim because the LED lead touches the chrome housing also... I also had an issue when i followed the "TQ Lockup switch". It worked fine for a while, however, wierd things started to happen. Some how the jumper wire that replaces the relay was causing a backfeed of power and keeping my computer on. Shutting off the truck the ADR would never let the truck shut down. It would just run forever. I pulled the lockup jumper and havent had a problem since. I was hoping it was a shorted or damaged solenoid (i was pointed that way from another person) however i replaced all trans solenoids with upgraded ones and have a GM governor solenoid too. Just wonding if something did get popped when i jump started it.... Even my V2.1 manual said DONT jump start it.
