AirDog 150 in cold weather
For the small filter I bought it off eBay. It is one of those orange WVO heaters. On the other filter I was given a filter heater for a semi. That one is more of a fabric material vs those orange rubber pads. I have each one wired to its own fused switch in the cab.

AirDog 150 in cold weather
Just an update here, now that the temps are way low like -10 with wind chills to -40, my filter heaters are keeping me running. The fuel psi still drops but never below 10psi. When I idle for about 20 mins the psi starts to climb back up but once I give it some throttle, it drops back down again. I am heating both filters.

AirDog 150 in cold weather
I put a fuel filter heater on both filters. With both filter heaters turned on, there is no change in fuel pressure. Doesn't matter how long I let them run. And has anyone ever watched what their fuel temps are when its cold out? And can someone tell me where my quadzilla gets its reading for fuel temp?

Air dog told me they run into this problem a lot. They gave a number to a shop in North Dakota. This shop makes parts to plumb engine coolant to the air dog pump. It's pretty expensive. They told me filter heater wraps should do the trick.

My napa still said they don't carry them so I had a buddy get one from napa down the road in the next town. How stupid is that?

My pressure is good in the morning when I leave for work. That's because I park in my heated garage. Soon as the cold hits the pump the psi drops right to 11. It doesn't slowly go down it jumps right to 11. Going to call airdog today.

Well did cleaned out my system and put new filters on. Topped off with number 1 and cant get above 12 psi. It sits right at 11psi. So thought maybe my guage was the issue. Took the truck over to the local diesel shop and had them test it. At idle they got 11.75psi and at 2000 rpm they got 10.5 psi.

Well sucked the tank dry, drained all lines, replaced both filters, and put 30 gallons of #1 in. Will see how it goes in the morning.

I have drained the separator every time it gels to look for water. I never see any water. This morning I drained some diesel out of it and sat it outside in the cold. It got cloudy real fast. It never did gel or get thick but did cloud over. I'm just going pump the tank out, new filters, and top off with 100% #1 and be done with it. If that doesn't work trade it off. lol

Well the damn thing gelled up again this morning. It's anout 0*F right now. When I last fueled up it was me and 2 other work trucks. Not one of those trucks have an issue, just me. Can I guy triple dose the fuel with treatment?

When it comes to parts I like buying local because it's easier to return stuff. Sometimes I have no choice but to buy online. I am going to napa Monday and make them feel bad. Lol

I have mine in the same spot. Do you run #1 with no issues? I normally run #1 with 2 cycle oil and never had an issue. But like I said this is my first year with airdog.

Well I pulled it in the heated garage all day. I added another dose of Power Service and have been letting it idle outside for about an hour now. The fuel psi is holding. Actually it's running a little higher. Right around 19 psi. I also insulated the pump, filters, and any fuel line that isn't tucked inside the frame rail. Hope that does the trick until I can get more #1 in there.

I assume it is working because when the guage reads zero the engine starts to stall. Soon as it gets below 10 psi I shut the engine off.

AirDog 150 in cold weather
It's electrical. It seems to be working right. I can't hear the airdog when I first turn the key on like i can when its warmer out. I can add more additive but I don't want to add to much. This is the first year I have ever gelled up. It's also the first winter with the airdog. When is the point of to much additive?

Sorry, I forgot to say that while waiting for the temp to warm up I did replace the fuel filter with a 10 micron filter. It had a CAT 2 micron filter. And once I I got it running I let it idle for about 20 mins. Then I only made it 2 blocks before it went to 0 psi again.

I have mine located by the transfer case, above the skid plate. Still more in the open verse stock location under the hood

My current tank has about 20 gallons of #2 treated with power service, and 10 gallons of #1. And 30oz of 2 cycle oil.

Napa told me they don't carry blower motors for my truck. I'll go back there on Monday. Thanks

AirDog 150 in cold weather
With temps above 20*F I have about 15-18 psi. When it gets colder out I have right at 11psi. The other day it to -2*F. The truck started and held at 11psi. About 5 mins later she started dropping psi and soon hit 1psi. The truck started to stall so I turned it off right away. So later that day after the temps got to about 15*F I started the truck and it held 11psi. I took it down the road and about 10 miles later it went up to 17psi and held. When I got home it jumped down to 11psi again. Any ideas? My airdog going bad?

$47 would be awesome. My home town in South Dakota the lowest price I could find is $99. That's without the cage also. Oh well.

Blower Motor
Well when I bought my truck I noticed the air flow was very week coming from the vents. I made sure all doors were working proper, core wasn't plugged, had vacuum, no blockage in vents. When I pulled the blower motor out I noticed that when spun by hand it instantly stopped, plus when I want to use the lowest fan speed I must first turn it to high. It's like it needed the fan to start turning first on high.

With the cage on the motor, how freely should it spin by hand?
