  1. Ok, now we are getting closer... So they are two separate items. That's what I figured. So, if I did decide to do injectors, I don't need to do nozzles... If I did do nozzles too, what would that do for me? If I'm in there, I might as well spend the extra $$$, if it makes a big difference. Right? BTW... I am on stock turbo... I'll be asking upgrade opinions about that later... ??
  2. If you look at the second pic, there are 2 blocks... The smaller one is the same as on my other stock height Ram 2500... This truck is definitely lifted. (Silver truck is old truck, white one is new truck. Both 99 2500's, the silver one seems more heavy duty. It's got a posi rear end, and I think the springs are different as well...)
  3. Your springs look way different than mine as well.... Hmmm...
  4. That was on a pontoon boat, on Clear Lake in northern California.... That was a major wild weekend!!! Dual bachelor party in a weekend rental house, with 5 boats... And strippers!!! We rented the party barge... I was Captain lazy ride... I liked driving it. It only had a 30hp motor!
  5. The truck I bought has a 6" lift. I think the front is ok, but the rear has huge blocks instead of springs. I don't like it. Any recommendations? Links to the right springs would be appreciated. Thanks!
  6. This is one of the single greatest Cummins threads I have ever seen!! Thank you!!! I have been battling this for 15 years!! I have tried everything, including the tin foil wrap (LOL!)... The only thing that ever really helped, for a while, was cleaning all the battery posts and connectors.... It sucks to have a $7000 transmission, built with love by the best, that can't decide if it's going to be in overdrive or 3rd gear @ 45 mph.... Not all heros wear capes!!!
  7. I was shopping for upgraded 100hp injectors, and tripped over 100hp nozzles as well... What's the difference? Do you need them both? If you do both, is that 200hp increase? The reason I ask is that a diesel performance shop did all my upgrades on my old truck, and they put 100hp injectors in that one. I am gearing up to do the motor swap, my old motor in new truck... But I thought maybe I would just throw some injectors in the new trucks motor instead, and see how that goes... It's got K&N intake, Larger exhaust, and a BD edge box... Thanks guys!
  8. Thank you.... The steering box in this truck is a bit loose... But I'm used to that... No truck in Mendocino county is a pavement princess.... I do have replacement parts galore on my old truck... Same year... I miss my old truck. Somehow, it was better... In nearly every way... I have the option to look at this new truck, then look at my old truck. (Both 99 2500 diesel auto club cab)... And my old one is somehow different... Cleaner, in the mechanical way.... I am getting frustrated... I'm a one man army out here with this... I am not a newb... I had my old truck for 16 years... I still got it... Its just a foot and a half shorter on the drivers side... I hit my own tree, on my own land... 500 hp... 7800lbs... Mud... Down hill... Fir trees got no give... "Throw it in the gutter, and go buy another"... Easy E... Well... Seems it's not exactly that easy... Easy E! LOL!
  9. I have been having some issues on with hard steering at idle, along with intermittent 4wd, and slow, or non responsive heater controls... I have been trying to track down vacuum leaks, but havent come up with anything, but a very tiny line with a break near the passenger side firewall... I am wondering if the pump may be bad? I did find a receipt in the truck for a new PS pump installed in 2015, and I know the guy only put about 2000 miles on the truck in all that time... could one have something to do with the other? are they a single unit? Thanks for the info, and help guys!

  11. I just installed the Lasfit LS series LED lights in my 99, and I am very pleased! Ridiculously bright!! I got them on eBay for $109. I am considering putting a set in my daughters truck as well. We live in the mountains, and drive a lot on dirt roads with lots of wild life and extreme road hazards. These aging eyes can use all the help they can get! Also, Lasfit customer service is very good.. I had an install issue, but it was me not seeing that their units locking collar comes off, so you can slide the stock collar over the front of their emitter, instead of over the rear, like a stock bulb.
  12. Thanks KS for the replies guys. Been busy and haven't been able to respond... This box has 2 LEDs, and one adjustment screw... I haven't had time to screw with it... It does seem to take a long time at 55 to shift into overdrive... Sometimes, mostly... LOL! I have no idea what the other box does. It has only one adjuster as well... I see no way to turn them off, and can't even tell if they are even on. LED lights aren't on... All wires seem to be connected (spliced)... There are no switches inside the truck. And it doesn't have exhaust brake... Been thinking about just removing them entirely... The wires are really short for something that seems to have been installed inside the truck, so I'm thinking they were used when installed... The guy I bought the truck from isn't a mechanical kind of guy, so yes no help. It's mostly why he sold the truck. He's just not suited to deal with a Gizmo Dodge.
  13. i said it was a dirty install... its tapped into the wires of the CPU on the firewall.... any idea how to adjust it? I also am confused as to why my old 99 has OD on/off button on the end of the shift lever, and this new truck doesnt... theres not even a light for OD in the gauge cluster... ????
  14. I have had a 99 Ram 2500 for 15 years... but, sadly, I had to smash that truck..... I went and found another, and I am in the beginning stages of making 2 trucks into one epic machine... I will be around here for a bit...I was actually a member of this site about 10-12 years ago... Couldn't remember my old login, so I made a new one... I guess my beast was pretty damned reliable! So, this new truck has these aftermarket transmission lock up boxes on it, and I've never had to deal with them before... I had the trans in my old truck built to the hilt, indestructible!!! $7000... I was pushing 500hp/1000ft/lb... No problem.... Its built for 1000 Ft/Lbs... but I digress... It'll end up in the new truck eventually. My goal right now, is to make this drivetrain as reliable as I can, So I can sell it when I get around to swapping my pumped motor and trans into this truck. this new truck is supposed to have a shift kit, or whatever in it. I can feel a firm shift, so i believe it. it's also got a deep sump pan on it, so someones been in there fooling around... My problem is that it does weird crap with the shift timing... Like... I accelerate on the highway, and it wants to rev to near red line before it shifts. and it also wants to drive in 3rd gear for about a 1/4 mile at a sustained 55-60 mph before it will shift into overdrive... Its F***ing annoying!! I cant identify the boxes, because some jerk epoxied one unmarked black plastic box to the the other aluminum box, blocking the entire label.... and they are both tapped into the CPU on the passenger firewall... It's a dirty nasty install. I'm not worried though, I have a duplicate of everything on the old truck.... So, here is the challenge for the day.... I'm going to post some pics... Please take a look for me. What are these boxes? Where can I download some manuals? Or, does someone know how to tune these things? Thank you so much!!!
