  1. Yes definitely seems like too much pressure building up. Everything seems to b flowing good from canister to VP. No clogged lines. Could lift pump b faulty, an sending too much fuel?? Trucks going to the shop tomorrow anyways, so i guess time will tell.
  2. So the cap on the water/fuel separator keeps popping off. Replaced cap an it blew off again. So replaced filter an cap this time an made it a few more kms before popping the threads on the cap an its leaking again. Any ideas???
  3. Ok thnx guys. Didn’t have to take it far so I don’t think there should b too much fluid gone Did you find the vibration issue?? Im having vibration issues too an have blown out 2 steady bearings in lke a month!?
  4. I lost the rear driveshaft on my truck. Just wondering how bad it is to drive in 4x4 with no rear shaft?!
  5. I think i got air in the fuel system while goin down a steep driveway before shutting it off. Just cracked some injectors till it was getn fuel again. No issues since. Thnx for the input. An sry for the delayed response lol
  6. P0230 code came up. Lift pump out of range?! I can here the pump working when I bump the starter. An it’s getting fuel to injection pump. So what does “out of range” mean?? Is lift pump dead/too weak to pump enough fuel?
  7. I started the truck up this morning, no issues. Let it warm up for about 20mins before driving. Drove it about 10 mins to the babysitters an shut it down. Went to leave, an it won't start now! Cranks over good but doesn’t fire. What could it be??
  8. Ya no kidding lol. Especially in the diesel world! Just looking for best bang for buck. Thnx for the link, i’ll check it out
  9. Ok cool, good to know. Ive heard of using 2 cycle oil but never really looked into it. Thnx for all the info everyone. Long weekend...i know what im doing lol Anyone know where to get a decent/cheap$ in-cab fp gauge.
  10. Truck fires rite up everytime no problem. An the vp is fairly new...within las year. Always add “Stanadyne” diesel fuel additive. Have been driving truck daily still an since I started post it hasnt happend again?!
  11. The check engine light comes on when it happens...but then goes out again a bit after it’s corrected, like while still driving it or next time its shut off/turnd on?! Not sure of the codes. An dont have fuel pressure gauge (yet). Im very easy on my truck an rarely even get into even 1/2 or 3/4 pedal. It always happens when im just cruising hwy speed with foot barely on pedal. Whats this ground mod?!
  12. Im having issues with dead pedal. Dont know where to start?!? Its been getter worse. Was happening about once or so every few months....would forget about it, then it would happen again. An today it happened 4-5xs home from work(about 35kms). If i push in clutch an pump pedal a few times itl will come back....then randomly cut out again while just cruising( barely on the pedal). Wondering if this HOT summer weather has somthing to do with it?? Any direction would help thnx!
  13. Ya for sure. Being the one that does 95% of the work on my truck, i like to take it easy on it an keep my repair/maintanance time to a minimum I dont plan on ever getting rid of the truck even if it does get retired to farm truck. I just really wanna see how many kms i can get out of it. Got it with 285,xxxkms on it
  14. Its a dually too which isnt too bad. Mgs are a lil lower now, between 18-21 rite now with aggressive winter tires on(no studs). 60psi in front, 50psi in rears. I run the Toyo M55s in summer(stock 1 ton size). Thats when im seeing more low to mid 20 mpgs!
  15. Sry meant to say 24.6 mpgs is my BEST mpgs ive seen on my truck. Its in the lower twenties now. I usually reset the mpg gauge every fill up. I drive around with a pretty light foot;) Dont race around or smoke ppl out too much lol. Love these truck for there power an mpgs!! The odometer is kmh. Then the fuel consumption is in mpg. Mpg just makes a lil more sense to me than liters per 100km or whatever it is lol. I can change in between stnd/mtric units on the overhead display on my truck so thats on US Standard, then my odo is Metric
  16. Just hit 490,000kms on the 2001 ram an still running strong. Its my daily driver/work truck. Do some average hauling(5K-8K Lbs) from time to time. I know thats not an extreme amount of kms an the truck is under worked a lot( getting groceries, sunday cruises, ect!) lol. Just curious how many kms/miles everyone has on there trucks. Average mpg is 24.6, mix of town an hwy driving (no load)
  17. Ok the “quick fix” seems to b holding up. No leaks this morning an truck fired rite up first try, no hesitation or anything. See how long it lasts i guess. Gotta order the new line when get paid
  18. Ok 015point9 i’ll keep that in mind. Not sure how soon itl be but i’ll let you know
  19. Ok sealant tape seems to be holding up so far. Taped it up an have been out driving around for about 45 mins or so. Everything looks dry still. An actually seems to b running a touch smoother. I dunno if its just me or not lol Will see how it starts in the morning. If takes a second try to start then its still leaking or the “fix” was pointless.
  20. Ok good to know. Ya im looking at ordering from ebay. Seems to be the best deal
  21. Ok thnx. Ya i was thinking of replacing all the injector lines, but gets pricy! Just gonna order line #6 soon. Thats the only one that is leaking. Thnx for the input. I’ll try some sealant tape for now an see how it works
  22. I have a small leak on injector line #6 rite where it connects to the injector tube. It looks like the threads are leaking a small amout. But enough that when it sits for a bit it usually doesnt start first time. Like it has to prime itself again, but starts no problem an runs fine after that. Im looking to replace the line soon. Just wondering if anyone has tried some thread sealer tape to quick fix the problem?! Just wondering if its worth the time to do the quick fix or if it even works
