  1. I replaced my ECM and FCM plugs with pigtailed aftermarket plugs. When I started the truck it idled normally but when i pressed the accelerator there was a loud grinding noise under the hood. What could I have done to cause this? It sat for over a month before I made the repair. Disconnected batteries first. Spliced wires one at a time. Reset throttle sensor before starting. No codes.
  2. Thanks. I thought I read somewhere that it could come out of timing because the pump provides the gear spindle.
  3. It came from Thoroughbred Diesel they state that it did come from approved rebuilder
  4. I'm replacing my vp44, removed the old one without aligning the keyway to the 12 oclock position. Is it safe to bar the keyway into position without the vp44 installed? Like my profile says- unskilled (But eager to be instructed)
  5. Thanks for your response. That is the oil I started with. I didn't notice it was a synthetic blend. I had seen posts saying synthetic should be avoided, so I switched. I'm still not clear about what the downside of using synthetic is. I tried again to find posts specific to that, but apparently I have no forum search skills. I had been ordering from the Evil Empire of Amazon, but thanks to forum replies, I learned that Walmart is a go-to place for 2 cycle oil. Hooda thought it....hard to drive more than 10 miles without seeing a Walmart in the Houston area. Thanks again for all the replies to this question.
  6. Yes, I have been getting gallon jugs from Amazon. They dropped it from my autoship orders. Then I became concerned when I tried all the Crosby auto parts and they didn't have any. I didn't state my actual concern- that it might be phased out altogether. Thanks for the web address, I'll order from them. Probably cheaper.
  7. It is getting hard to find non synthetic 2 stroke oil in the Houston area. Where are you finding "regular" 2 stroke oil? What bad things happen when synthetic 2 stroke oil is used?
  8. I have the P0216 code with no obvious problems. Where is the FUEL INJECTION PUMP TIMING in ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS - RAM PICKUP - DIESEL article? It is referenced often but my searches fail to find it.
  9. 2001 24v. Blue Chip V44, Fass DDRP lift pump, Beans sump with 1/2" hoses, otherwise stock. Autocomputers repaired my ECM and PCM ECM- Replaced Lift Pump circuit, Resoldered CPU, Resoldered Flash Chip, Replaced APP circuit, Replaced 9.5 and 5v drivers. PCM- Replaced voltage regulator, replaced 3 220uf caps, resoldered CPU and Noise Filter. I have replaced the alternator and installed a 5A fuse to protect the PCM. I am testing the wire harness for shorts and haven't found any. If I do the W-T mod first, will it be safe to connect everything and turn the ignition on so I can connect my new BlueDriver and check for faults?
