Cigarette lighter power intermittent
One other clue to the mystery I get power if I push the accessory I need all the way into the cigarette lighter and hold it there... Haven't had time to get behind it

Cigarette lighter power intermittent
Did you need to replace speakers with the head unit? My setup has the Bose speakers.

Cigarette lighter power intermittent
Thanks, I still have the stock radio and use a Bluetooth radio transmitter in the cigarette lighter so it only comes on when the truck comes on, but I might put one of these in the bottom power plug. I have the fancy radio and thought I have to replace speakers etc if I want to resolve the head unit.

Cigarette lighter power intermittent
Hey folks the lower power port in my truck works well, however, the cigarette lighter (upper). Will often take 10 seconds or so to power an accessory like a USB charger, and sometimes will go out for a minute. Any thoughts on theories on low/ intermittent power from the cigarette lighter?

Door jam foam fell out
Gotcha, probably not an option with no garage in central Idaho for a while.

Door jam foam fell out
Hey Folks, Not sure what it is called, but the piece of foam in the front of the door jam. (my internet is too slow to run the parts catalog) Anyone replaced or repaired one of these when it fell out? Wondering i can use adhesive to put it back in place. My truck is already loud enough in the wind, not sure I want anything else to add to the sound. Thanks

Seat heater element replacement
Hey folks someone has already repaired the seat heater element in my 2001, does anyone know of a replacement element I could buy? I'm seeing some generic ones for sale but wasn't sure if they will work with the factory switch.

APPS TPS failure expectation
Well swapped alternator's at NAPA this morning, no bench tester available. Drove home, right about the same numbers. as before battery .009 Alternator .019-.02. Have to finish packing up the house and drive to Idaho Saturday/Sunday so we will see how it goes.

APPS TPS failure expectation
Perfect timing I had just pulled in the driveway. Did the cruise around the block and got the same original data minus the spike on the alternator side. Ran over to Napa to swap it but the parts guy was running late have to do it in the morning.

APPS TPS failure expectation
Got the truck good and warmed up. Put the meter on the alternator. .008-.01 on the Battery, .019 on the alternator, although every 15 seconds or so it would jump up to .025-.030, then settle back to .019-.021 fairly quickly. Not sure if that was my hand etc... All accessories off. I called NAPA and they had one in stock, will try to stop by tonight or the morning and swap it out.

Nice, I'm thinking this would do the trick? https://www.amazon.com/Fluke-101-Multimeter-Resistance-Capacitance/dp/B00HE6MIJY/ref=asc_df_B00HE6MIJY/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=366343882692&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10264633338135990573&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9030767&hvtargid=pla-434551935004&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=76503872296&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=366343882692&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10264633338135990573&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9030767&hvtargid=pla-434551935004 We're moving to Cascade Idaho for a bit to FS housing, a 1930s ranger house. Planning to buy in Donnelly since my wife and I work for the FS. If we move there we can work in McCall or Cascade or New Meadows and never have to move again for work.....

APPS TPS failure expectation
Will do. This truck came with a bad edge tuner, they tested it and have me a big discount on this one.... I mainly like the gauges and alarms for my wife.

APPS TPS failure expectation
I forgot that the edge juice had a map sensor plug adapter. I unplugged all that plug the original map sensor in unplugged the edge juice reset the codes and went for a drive. Didn't get any codes but time will tell. Wow what a difference that truck makes without the tuner even running the tuner on zero and one seems like a big jump from stock.

So I unplugged the juice module cruise down the street to get a sandwich and had a maximum of maybe 1/4 throttle. Plugged it back in for the drive home and drove normal, is that me not resetting it correctly? Edit:. Got my scanner, pulled a P0237 code. Saw a list of things from Mopar1973man on a previous post

APPS TPS failure expectation
Gotcha. I'll give that a try although I'll miss my EGT gauge. The hard part on this is it seems to happen every couple of thousand miles.

APPS TPS failure expectation
Copy, that was my edge ct2. Hopefully the scanner I ordered will give me a better read. I'm an electrical dummy is there a multimeter y'all would recommend to check for AC noise that I could pick up somewhere like Lowe's or Napa? The only other random thing that popped into my mind was about 2 months ago I turned off the truck and it kept running. Never had it happen before or since and I ended up unplugging the edge box and it turned off....

APPS TPS failure expectation
Thanks. No 2 stroke, how much are you adding? If I get to salt lake I can drop it off at my father in laws shop, he's pulling out other trailer up there with me. I'll check for water. Was going to do a fuel filter and oil change before I left. I got a fault I'm companion module code p1063. Waiting on a code reader to get delivered today.

APPS TPS failure expectation
Thanks, I might break down and see if I can get a good shop to look at it since I need to drive up to Idaho on Saturday with a trailer. I get about 17 to 18 PSI at idle on fuel pressure.

APPS TPS failure expectation
Would a failing VP44 pump give me similar symptoms over a 5-month period and probably 8 or 9,000 mi that occurring every two months?
-
APPS TPS failure expectation
Thanks, i was just on his site, but I'm not sure I'd get one before I need to leave with a trailer Saturday morning... One from Napa I could swap with the warranty if it is out of spec at least

APPS TPS failure expectation
Well, I'm gonna start on this mod. Can I do this without removing radiator hose etc...? Got my first dead pedal after a few thousand miles of towing and two months. We're currently moving from Southern Nevada to Central Idaho been hauling trailers up and down the last two months. And I already moved my shop up to Utah when this happened so I'm down to the bare minimum on tools. I'm also loading the final trailers and getting the house ready to sell this week. I have new batteries and new battery terminals. I'm pulling code p1063 and the codes for the glow plug relays.

APPS TPS failure expectation
Appreciate the help, didn't see this before I put in a new one, so no bench test. Napa treats me good on returns though. 100 miles down and acting right. 160 to go. I'll give it a deep dive when I get home.
-
APPS TPS failure expectation
Thanks, looks like the alternator is out of spec. I was able to use a pretty high-quality meter. I'll start there and add ground when I get home
-
APPS TPS failure expectation
Thanks, currently no codes showing up. P1022 was there code with the old TPS Got .006 on the battery, .22-.24 on the alternator. I'll try an alternator.
