  1. Thank you for all science and testing information. It made a whole clear picture! Also what is about stabilizer diesel fuel? I will need read it closer as I grab it for put diesel stabilizer to keep it stabilizer while parked in my garage during winter time as not worth to drive while narrower county road and stupid crazy drivers during winter time.
  2. Holy crap! I has been do that for three years.. So which should I just do? What do you use on your cummins?
  3. Which do you use diesel fuel additive? I has use power service (white and grey) and 2 stroke oil. But I am wondering about howe's diesel fuel additive?? Which is good to use?
  4. My cummins has green coolant since I bought it and from 2002 and older cummins are green coolant while Chrysler and cummins had changed from green coolant to HOAT after 2003. - - - Updated - - - I did compare the mopar ms7170 and ford motorcrafts green coolant while ford said it is meets or exceed the requirement of Chrysler ms7170. Motorcrafts green is ethylene glycol-based.
  5. Before I am going to do thermostat replacement as started to sticky a little but I will do flush whole coolant as green coolant. I am wonder do I need diesel coolant additive as ford motorcrafts has one? I has four green motorcrafts coolants to use as flush old green coolant out.
  6. I am prefer to stay same as what cummins said for green coolant. I has no problem to do flush as I can do it at my work that has flush machine and can do it without make messy at my garage.
  7. I am curious which do you use coolant for cummins? I will need complete flush the coolant since I don't know if previous owner had changed the coolant fluid?? I has some of green coolant as ford's that I had extra... But I want see what is choices to go for??
  8. You has towing a 15k trailer and I am only Towing like 4k to 5k lbs trailer. That it... When I do towing, my cummins act like there is nothing. But I am caution as not go too fast or speeding for no reason. I only driving like grandma on my cummins so it will go far like twice distance Than my family's fleet vehicles do.. - - - Updated - - - It is my first time to use my cummins to towing out of state. I just want to be prepare. But I will check the fluid to see what is color but it had changed two years as only like 10k miles. I know that I don't drive much but during winter time I had my cummins parked in garage as not worth to drive on ice or snow as county roads.
  9. I am not going to hurry or driving too fast with trailer since I am plan to leave few hours earlier so I can driving at 60 mph with trailer. I has use to get in fifth gear when go up the hill but Indiana and Illinois are pretty flat and not much of hills. Maybe in Wisconsin which I will drop to fifth gear if need to. I am think about just add one quart as not want to push two in and something happen???also I do towing a often around here local but all are flat..
  10. That is something new to me that put Lucas oil stabilizer in manual transmission. Problem is NV5600 are only want good lube and easy to flowing not slick and thicker??
  11. I am plan to towing enclosed trailer 7x12 with two Harley road king classic and some of stuffs. It maybe about 5k lbs +\-. I am not understand that sixth gear are not for towing purpose? Also I has seen websites that sell fast cooler kit or other brands that make more quarts in nv5600? Should I get it or stay as stock since I only towing a 5k trailer with 2 harley. I did use towing something else but not as heavy like two Harley. I had fifth wheel setup (it was on before i bought it) but I don't own a fifth wheel trailer. I am plan to add one more quart in my nv5600 but before I do, I would like to see what is opinions about it? My dodge cummins was former heavy towing truck that I had found history of previous owners. But my Nv5600 work fine and shifting as normal. I just want make sure it is good to go for two vacations trips. I just want be prepare to do before go for trips. Also I did research on google about overfilling the nv5600, half people said that is not good idea, other half people said yes as overfilling to keep it lube.. Problem is I don't see the proof or live facts that it do or don't help??? It is just talking and opinions...
  12. I has found a correct rear hub bearing nut socket as otc 2 9/16 round 6 points socket. I am trying to figure out what is correct front hub bearing as RWD.
  13. What is best way to fill one or two more quarts in my nv5600? Jack up the driver side or just pull the shifter out then re-sealant on shifter? I did drain and filled two years ago as only like 6,000 miles. I was not drive my cummins much as I would as too many things I has to do. But now it is time to do traveling..
  14. I am curious why want overfill the nv5600 since Chrysler/dodge had engineering team to work and design the nv5600 and the service manual said fill up to top by fill plug port. That it. I did drain and fill mine like 5 quarts into nv5600. So far no noise as feeling the shifting as normal that would be as 208k miles.
  15. I will do re-pack wheel bearings on trailer since my dad and I just bought trailer from Detro trailer store. I did a lot of maintenance on my cummins and so far I has no problem except I has to put fuel filter on 1/2" big hose to keep debris out of raptor pump. I has mostly common hand tools. But if something happen at my uncle or aunt home, I can use my tools to fix at their garage If I need to do. I just want to be prepare than search for tool around small towns of Wisconsin...
  16. what type of tools or parts should I has go with me on long trips? I has most basic tools as in craftsman 4 drawers carry toolbox but I need know what is size of rear Dana 80 (3.55) nut for rear hub bearing assembly? and front hub bearing big nut?? so I can be ready if something is happen on trip. I am plan to go up to Wisconsin as my parents' families live there. same time I has towing 7x12 enclosed trailer with two Harley road king classics plus some of bicycles or other suitcases in trailer(two axles rated to 7,200 lbs) I just want be ready to do what I can do or have my parents go to get things and I can fix myself. then on December, I will driving to Gulf shore for a week vacation. so I would like to see what is suggest and options. I has extra fuel filters keep inside truck.
  17. Update : I did inspect over and clean the dirty screen inside the raptor pump after not been clean for almost three years(oops) and I tried to test again. It got much improved on fuel pressure. So I had ordered the fuel filter wix33248 (14.00 dollars) as inline fuel filter as 1/2" inlet and outlet that I found a post about that at cummins forum as use same raptor I has. So I will buy few and keep in my truck if need to replace again when I has seen fuel pressure drop again. I may do a project as try to make my own fuel filter kit that I could use but for now I don't have enough time to do that as need get ready for trip. But same time I can cut the fuel filter to inspect inside after I am back from Wisconsin in October to see if I should go for larger fuel filter.
  18. It is clean and no dirty or corroded. Even I had put electrical grease on connector.
  19. Update: I did pulled the regulation and it is clean. But one o-ring had cut a bit from removed it. Then I had pulled the inlet port, found a debris on screen. I will need to put fuel filter on it. But I can't put a large fuel filter with filter base as no room to put on. So should I get 1/2" fuel filter like automotive fuel filter or??? Either upgrade to airdog 100 that has two filters or ?? I had not follow the raptor paperwork that need to clean the screen few times a year or do often if do driving a lot... I would like to see what is option to do( I don't want to drop the tank as it is full of diesel fuel. And all diesel fuel stations are has dirty inside. It lead me to prefer to install a fuel filter before the inlet of raptor or just bit the bullet to buy a 565 dollars airdog pump with filters????i need get it to ready to drive as get ready for two long travel for vacations with family.
  20. Ok I will do pull regulation out after work tomorrow. Also I has not get any response back from Airdog company about this issue..
  21. I had contacted the pure flow airdog company as sent a email since I can't make a call myself. Also I don't want take regulation out if it would void the warranty?? I could take it out but prefer to get response back to see what they would said.. I had issue as fuel gauge would show 20 psi mostly time but other time it would drop to 12 or 15psi for few days.. I tried to adjust and it don't make a difference so I just park my cummins to avoid the damage to injection pump. - - - Updated - - - No response back from them after I had sent a email. I can't make a call as no video phone at my work(broke) and I would like to fix this issues before October as will have about 2,000 miles road trip then on December I will go to gulf shore Alabama for Christmas vacation.... That is other 2,000 miles+\-.... I don't want to have this problem... If I has no choice then it seem like I am going to fork up for airdog 100 and be done???
  22. I has issue with fuel pressure that I had been seen normal it would be about 20 psi but now it had dropped to 12 to 15 psi even changes fuel filter and adjust te regulation. It don't help..Should I contact the air dog company and see what to do? Or time to upgrade to airdog 100 with two filters??
  23. Where can I get a "plumbing" that is good to use with diesel fluid? I got a fuel filter and fuel filter base but need plumbing to make it work but need know which is way to use material??
  24. I am little concern about protective since my truck are 2wd and don't have a a metal sheet like 4wd dodge has. I will see how much for that parts you provided on this post so I can see where can I buy from. I just want get it done and get ready for thousands miles drive as two vacations with harleys in trailer.
