Researching for another project I came across wideband o2's that are also diesel rated. I know some VW's have them for emissions. Other than that any reason to have one in our trucks? Only thing I could see is for tuning, but even then it seems to just be another way to :spend:

The only thing a O2 sensor would be used for is smoke control. Just like on gasser the O2 sensor detect rich/lean conditions and tunes the fuel accordingly to the load and speed.

Ok thought so. I am working on megasquirting our Ramcharger and swapping in a magnum engine as well. Need an WBo2 for it, saw diesels mentioned. Got me thinking as I have been reading about EFI live supporting cummins now. (probably not our years, the red headed step children :ahhh:) I would love to tune the diesel. Not saying I would be good at it, but fun non the less. I datalogged our bike and played in the ecm as well. Definately fun. Takes some getting used to coming from carbuetors. LOL

Yea I agree it would be fun to play with EFI Live on a 24V engine... But I think your right we are the red headed step child of the family of Cummins.. I hate to say it but there is no comparing gas engine to diesel to totally different worlds...
