TWINS (not turbo)

Recommended Posts

i like my truck so much i got another one. its a 01 2500 qclb 4x4 5 speed, edge jwa, couple pillar guages, some kind of 400 dollar air box (going to change to a 30 $ bhaf just need to find stock boot), four inch turbo back, four inc lift (that has to go, might have questions about that) ,fass 150, 92000 miles. oh and looks pretty good all one color with a few small dings and scratches.i need to put a fuel guage in, why it doesnt have one with all the other mods the guy did i dont know, and new fuel filters in tommoro. so i should get good pressure to vp, but my very first question on this build is this,if i have 15 psi to vp, how do i know if the vp is healthy? is there a way to check a vp under my shade tree (with no leaves and icycles pointing at me. ya it gets cold in california too) then my next question would be how do i know what size the injectors are? if i remove one of them is there a code or a mark i can shout out to you guys and you will know? question 3, acording to the edge, the boost will read a couple psi less than the guage on the pod. whats up with that, and if you guys think the boost on the edje is ok, i would put the fuel pressure guage in the pod where the boost guage is.thats a good start, truck rips and doesnt feel dead at all, just want to cover the bases.

No real way to test your vp if its not showing any codes has good lp pressure and runs good thats about as good as you can do. No way I know to tell what injectors are without pulling them. As far as different boost numbers Im not 100 percent sure but I think the edge does boost fooling and if it is pulling info from the OBDport that may be why your seeing slightly lower numbers. Is your boost gauge tapped into your exhaust manifold? I would think that would be the more accurate reading  Sounds like all in all you got a nice truck, how about some pictures!?! :thumbup2:

The juice with attitude has a fuel pressure sensor. It would be installed in the inlet to the injection pump on a '01.Where is the boost reading for the pod guage taken. On average a 1-2psi drop is seen from the compressor outlet to the intake. Do you see any evidence where the injector lines or valve cover where taken off for injector work. How does the truck drive in the stock setting. Does it appear to have more smoke than a stock truck. If the truck runs strong and starts good(cold and warm) I would say the pump is working fine. My 50's will smoke more than the stock injectors in the stock setting too. Sounds like nice truck with great miles. I can't find anything close to that around here anymore.
