So as the title states, is it necessary to retorque (ensure all bolts are up to correct ft/lb) the head bolts after break in and some mileage after full rebuild?  So far i have about ~3000miles on my rebuild. I have had no issues but i heard rumors of needing to recheck torque on all head bolts. I am also unsure of what the ft/lb is to check for if needed.  I did do proper install on head per rebuild manual.

thoughts suggestions?

Did you use head bolts or head studs? Either would be fine to go in and at least check all of them. If you used ARP head studs they say you do not need to retorque them but I did mine at about 3k just to make sure.

i used new stock bolts from cummins, and i torqued per rebuild specs and pattern all the way to 90deg turn. was just curious if a recheck is needed and what ft-lb it is. If not then i wont worry. i dont go above 30psi boost and just drive it normally and not tow much so its an easy going truck

Never a bad idea to recheck, nor really that bigger deal

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. If you used studs I would say go in and re-torque them for sure.
