Posted December 16, 20195 yr I rebuilt my 47re all new parts with a ATS rebuilt shift solenoid. On cold start shifts fine until you you stop it doesn’t down shift and it then starts in second gear and will not go to over drive. basically have reverse, second and drive. (scanner indicates short in solenoid)
December 16, 20195 yr Staff Is the shift solenoid the same as the governor solenoid? Have you ohm tested the solenoid to see if there is a short?
December 22, 20195 yr Are you sure you aren't getting a high line pressure condition in the PCM causing the second (or third?) gear start? I'm assuming you are running more line pressure with your new trans.
