I have a 2001 24v and it will read 40 psi of oil pressure weather its running or the key is just turned to the start position. I might add that it still reads 40psi with oil pressure sensor unplugged well.  I have tried a good know cluster and it does the same thing. I've cleaned all grounds and checked them. Anyone know what it could be?

You might try checking for codes and see if maybe the sensor is bad. Do you have the 3 wire sensor or the one wire switch?

I have the 3 wire sensor. The only codes I have are P0251, P0252, P0253

Well those are VP codes that I am not familiar with. Did you use a scanner or the key trick?

Maybe a short in the wiring? I think any info I could give is just speculation.

I did key trick and a scanner same codes on both. i traced the wiring and the wiring looked good. cleaned both the plug and the sensor side.
