ok i have had a little surge in the cruise control while driving down the highway with smarty and edge...not anymore...so far..i put some aluminum foil on the wire from the alternator to the passenger battery..the wire that is black with an orange stripe...so far knock on woods..no surging.:thumbup2::thumbup2:

That points to the issue that your alternator might have a bad diode creating AC waveform. What you doing is covering up the AC noise using tin foil. So I would suggest you have the alternator bench tested for diode function. Because even 1 bad diode could leak AC into the power.
