so i have a 2001 24valve 6 speed and i screwed up on welding some exhaust on the truck, i had the batteries unhooked but i forgot to move my ground when welding a exhaust hanger from the frame back to the exhaust and when i tried to weld the exhaust it searched for the ground through the engine block and so far i found that it took out my CTM and ABS module, when i hooked the battery back up the headlight stayed on and the wipers stayed on also with the abs pump running, i narrowed it down to i uplugged the ctm and the lights and wipers stop, the truck would start for few seconds then die so i unhook the pcm and truck will run and take pedal up to about 2000rpm, with the pcm hooked up i can communicate with the pcm and ecm with my scanner and my cluster works. i have the premium ctm, i ordered a used ctm with the exact part number as the one i have, i plugged it in with the pcm plugged and and i get nothing not even the start and run for a few seconds, it seamed to lock out the ecm even with pcm unplugged unless i unhook battery for a few seconds, im pretty good with a computer and electronics i want to know if i can program this new ctm with my key? or if i can get lucky with moving a chip from my old one? or even better get a pcm possibly with no antitheft?

VIN number is not matching you are going to have issues. You might give Auto Computer Specialist a call and see what they are capable to handle in repairing the modules and also flashing the VIN number to them as well. Sadly you can't mix and match VIN numbers on modules.
