Truck has about 125k. Items done to date;scan tool indicated erratic signal so Changed sensor, pushed cam gear back onto camshaft, yes cam had .125 end thrust, computer was checked by Cummins , bad wire splice for cam sensor in motor harness re-soldered and checked to pin connector. valves adjusted found bent pushrod and replaced, new cam sensor connector installed. Just about to push this thing into the bushes.. now the latest mech. who has worked for dodge since desoto says needs injectors. any thoughtsthanks

Try swapping the crank and cam sensor and see if the problem follows.

valves adjusted found bent pushrod and replaced

This would worry me abit, and the root cause of the bent pushrod, may also be the cause of your erratic signal.

discovered the ecm not producing a ground of all things to the sensor so i grounded the sensor cured lite for 2 days now its back and trips about as soon as started. gonna try the crank cam sensor swap and check the resistance on the sig wire.
