So recently I had an incident in my truck during hurricane sandy.....and need less to say I hurt my truck:cry:. And now I'm in the rebuilding process and have run into some issues. Basically my steering knuckle is bad. I was searching around and one of my buddy's has a parts truck that is the same as mine, ( 2wd standard cab 2500) but its a gasser. Will the knuckle still work on my truck????

Are you talking about the joint on the steering shaft, between the steering wheel and steering box?Or the actual steering knuckle on the axle tube?what are the year models of the trucks?

Year make and model of my truck is a 1997 ram 2500 standard cab 2wd diesel 5spd. Gvwr of i believe 8800 but am not positive. Donor truck is a 1996 ram 2500 2wd standard cab gasser 360. GVWR is 7500lbsAnd by steering knuckle i mean the piece that the ball joints to into the big ol hunk of iron

No not pitman arm. Im not sure if its a one piece spindle or not but it'd be what the spindle mounts to or is a part of.

On the 2wd, the 2500 and the 3500 will work. Gas and diesel.

Those #'s are for the steering knuckle.

Olds cool- that's it! And you said that it doesn't matter between gas or diesel 2500-3500. So I'm guessing the used one will work and the difference from the gasser 7500 GVWR to my 8800 GVWR won't matter?.

Sorry for the delay. They use the same knuckle according to the part #'s. You can review the part #s in a Dodge oem parts site and put in the #'s I listed for you. Scroll down and see all the listed models covered. You should be good to go.
