Hi all,I need some advice on some factory style extended mirrors. I put a truck camper on her & a larger mirror would help make things a bit easier. If I went salvage yard hunting would I be able to find a good used set? Are there many trucks that had them. Seems like most the 2nd gens running around here have the small stock ones.What should I look out for? Easy install? Any aftermarket ones to stay away for or that you would recommend?Thanks,Dave

Thanks dripley. With hauling season quickly coming up again I need to do something. Thats quite a reasonable price for them compared to $400+ that Ive seen. Too many blind spots with my little mirrors Im constantly breaking my neck one way or the other to see whats behind me. If I adjust them to my load/chains I cant see traffic and if I adjust them to the traffic I cant see my load.

Guys,I need to order a set of tow mirrors. Last truck I had, was both power and heated factory mirrors, so the tow mirror choice was obvious..This '97 truck has power only (no heat). Are the plugs the same as the power/heated for the 2nd gen trucks? Is it difficult to add a heater circuit for the mirrors?Thanks,Rogan

I got the set that CSM linked above and like em so far. (big improvement with traiker on)The plug should be the same, as far as I know they all come pre wired from the factory.

thanks. I'll prolly order a set today. I ordered from AM AutoParts for my last truck, and I see they have the heated/power with brackets for $200 free shipping right now.. Since I swapped from my Western Hauler bed to the OE bed, I can no longer see beyond Dodge's fat hips :lmao:

check this out Rick http://www.elektro.com/~charlie/mirrors/ I may have mis led you a little, i was going by memory of a friend who did the install. After my earlier post, i started 2nd guessing myself on whether he installed power heated or just power mirrors. Hopefully this helps a little

PERFECT! Apparently, making the heaters work is cake.Also, my 97 plugs are different :( No problemo, though. I'll make a crossover harness. Thanks for the link; that'll help a lot.

I have the factory manual mirrors. I love them but HATE re-adjusting them by myself. So if I unhook at our destination & try to not fold them if we unhook.

Tow mirrors are on. Oh how I've missed you, my friends!

In or out? :stirthepot::stirthepot::stirthepot::stirthepot::stirthepot:
