  1. Never going back to the "mickey mouse" mirrors, can't see the sides of the trailer.
  2. Screwed mine right in the pto cover. Down low. If you want, I can take a pic and show you where I put it. Having put miles on an auto, having it take a dump, and doing conversion, would do it again in a heartbeat!!! 6 speeds are awesome for towing. I was always worried about abusing the auto, not any more.
  3. I have a BHAF. I will see if wastegate opens correctly. Maybe that could be an issue. Thanks for all the input guys!!!! I will report back when I find something.
  4. I guess I should have been a little clearer in my original question. I understand you cant have the best of both worlds and I wasn't going for mpg towing, I just wanted to stay about the speed limit on a moderate hill and right now I can cook the exhaust with very little input to the throttle on flat ground. (with trailer) So back to original question, would a little bigger turbo help with this issue? lol I agree with the above statement. Sorry for questions, new to diesel turbo stuff. Rather ask a stupid question first instead of making big mistake. BTW, all I would have to spend money on is a turbo, the rest of the materials, labor, etc. I can do in my shop.
  5. OK. So what if I don't want to tow at 45 mph? The reason I bought a diesel is to be able to tow at least the speed limit..... Now, you are telling me that I could have just kept my gas truck and roared the s#!t out of it at 45 mph? I have a 6 speed, 4th gear is about 35 mph????? There has to be a way to tow at highway speeds without the egts getting out of hand. Not bashin, just asking questions.
  6. Noticed pulling the trailer the other day that it was easy to get into the 1200 degree range on the egt's. Would a little bigger turbo like a gen 3 or 4 help with dropping the egt's a little. Have the comp on 5X3, have not played with it at all. Boost is in the 25-30 range. New to this diesel power stuff. lol Soon to add RV 275's
  7. I am seeing a constant 21-23 pounds, is that too much?
  8. I have a lathe, I just made one.
  9. I think I found my issue. Well, it starts every time now and have 2 variables that I changed. One of the issues I changed was going from a draw straw to a sump. The other was the Fass 95 that quit on me. Was a used pump. I think the old pump was bleeding back to the tank and letting fuel get away from the VP. Would prolly take a couple days to do this. Anyway, now I don't have to worry about running out of fuel at 1/4 tank and my truck start all the time!!!!!
  10. Yup, cycled pump. Still the same. Where's this "t" in the return line?
  11. Cannot see any leaks at the back of head. Tightened up some clamps along the fuel line from pump. Doesn't matter how many times I cycle grid heaters-etc. Same issue, cranks until get air out of system.
  12. Two BRAND NEW batteries. I will check the fitting at back of block.
  13. My truck starts hard after a couple days of sitting, like I ran out of fuel. I read somewhere about a loose fitting or something that can cause this but can't find the thread now. Is it possible the fass is bleeding off pressure? I don't see any leaks or weeping anywhere.
  14. yup, not enuff pressure at wot. You NEED TO INVEST in a good pump. You don't want to have to buy a new VP.
