Is it worth adding 2-cycle oil to a P7100 truck?
okay canadian coming in here late... i have a 2002 6 speed with the 24 valve... all sorts of things went wrong this year... truck has about 340 000 km on it... only changed the pump once about 50 000 miles ago...ripped off the lift pump and went to an in tank push pump... was told by ( Dodge) i'd never need a new pump again???? i use to use all those adatives you find at truck stops for diesel trucks but have stopped... i had a chip from BD Diesel performance on there which i have since removed... my question my milage has really slipped in the last year (nothing to do with the chip)... still have the power just truck is eating fuel like never before... i only tow an all aluminum charmac atv trailer with a rhino side by side on it... when i tow that thing my milage is crap... so much so im thinking it would be better to tow with my wife's f-150... total max weight 2000lbs questions... what could be wrong... who should i bring the truck too? Do you trust dodge dealerships to diagnose these things ? If i do run 2 stroke engine oil... how much do i use to a tank... i don't do gallons so im not sure... but all our tanks are the same size... ii normally run them really low Sorry for the rant!

6 speed trans problems
I believe I am having issues with my 6 speed manual... i have a good size rear main seal leak... 6 speed manual... lately i've noticed.. my fuel milage slipping... but it gets better after about 2 or 3 hours of hauling a medium load.... i don't get it...ill be towing a trailer and albeit i know 6s isn't a pulling gear after about 1900 rmps it will pull okay when you ask it too... but not the first 2 or 3 hours of my voyage... anyhow... i've had a few back yard guys look at my truck and they are all suggesting... im getting oil from my rear main seal to my clutch??? Is that even possible? Truck has been a hwy truck since 50000 km where i bought used ... back then it had a BD Power Diesel chip with no settings on it... so i removed it asap... fuel pump has been replaced. No clutch work ever.. opinions please.... could it be an injectore? I mean my clutch isn't covered in oil... and my drive way has a little oil spot where i park... this isn't a huge oil leak... i don't add oil between oil changes sorry ill add that i am at about 340000km... now not sure what that is in miles? Maybe around 200 000

The time has come to produce the Mopar1973Man High Idle & MPG fooler switches again.
Im not very mechanical and recently due to oil prices out of a good paying job... my question... could i install this thing myself? Thanks

grandpa's truck what to do
so inherited grandpa's 94 regular cab long box 4x4 auto trans... 94000 km's not sure how many miles... 50k maybe... it's been sitting in a garage for 5 years without being started... seeing as i don't have much money how long can i let it sit there??? some people say i can start it some say drain all the diesel? Thinking it's been sitting for 5 years what's a few more... garage is heated and truck is mint... probably worth keeping. I have 3 kids so the regular cab doesn't work for us... breaks my heart to even think of selling this truck

thanks a lot... the 02 needs a new rear main seal and oil pan gasket everyone keeps telling me its a "huge job" its not too bad just a few drops of oil on the drive way... had the front seal go last year... the hack that did the work sure made a mess of hings even scratched the top of the engine where the cummins lettering is written not sure how he did that but he had to take the front bumper apart and everything... i asked him to clean the radiators for me...think he did??? nope still some oil and dust on em... piss me off... there is so much work here in Northern Alberta you can't hire a good trades person that cares if you try.... no matter what the trade I use to be in Construction as well... my family in Vancouver is heavy into the industry... i loved it but hated family working so i decided to go "educate myself" lol... mistake my cousins make x3 what i do and never missed a pay cheque after they left high school! Kick kick kick! wow can't believe you guys are in and out in 4 months... we use to specialize in 4 story appartment building with concrete underground parking... i think from excavation to finnish was about 16 months... i still remember towing a bobcat 853 on a 16 foot tandem high boy trailer with a 1992 cummins 5 speed... man that truck ran forever but boy was it slow... stupid we sold it for $500 at 300 000 km but we beat it hard those 300k never lossed a drop of oil but did start burning blue smoke a little... i think we dusted the engine... boss (my dad) cheap guy... never saw the benefit of air filter changes... he'd just blow them out like we did with our heavy equiptment... oops if i had to do it all over again... i'd do what grand pa did... stone craft... specialized in granite rock wall, fireplaces you name it he did it... got really offeneded if you asked him to lay brick though! lol

are you sure that's the right site... i just found a right up about the 2004 dodge ram do those hanes manuals work well? Call me dumb... but the best manual i ever read on anything was for my Honda 2007 450x manual allowed even a fool like me to do everything...every step had a pic and it had word for word step by step instructions... i find not being mechanical i miss all those little things you mechanical types take for granted

gotcha... im on forum right now for my dirtbikes/quads that has a like, love, recommend and thank... i know a little crazy i always found the thank you button great as you can all tell im not very mechanical... like everyone else in Canada I came to the great white North of Northern Alberta oil field to further my career... i have a chance to move back south and live in the house where the truck has been staying warm for 5 years... so i figured despite the big city of Vancouver it was a good chance to better my families situation

boys i started this on another site here in Canada... its a atv, sledding and dirtbike forum... i have offers to about 7500 bucks... that's not that point in know i can dump it... just want to find a reason to keep it... this truck has a lot of centimentel value to me because i made many of the trips to the cabin in it... the back of the truck has two custom welded boat motor holders i helped him build... i have gotten some advise in the past that includes just firing the truck up and that diesel doesnt go bad???? Im happy im on this site because i know your all diesel lovers like me... but im a mechanically scared to do things without someone watching over me... my cousin works for cummins but he wants the truck so i don't think it will be fair to ask him to help me... he offered to buy me a new trials bike in trade... but comparing this truck to a new dirt bike really put it into perspective... i'd be better off to get this truck running leave it parked in same garage... drive it once a month and give it to my boy in 12 years... then trade "up" for a dirt bike!!!!

Diesel4life... i will take your advise and that's exactly how i will do it... yes guys i will have it flat decked to a dealership, new batteries, dump the diesel tank and change all the oils... Yes, I believe it is diesel leaking from the tank... this must have just started as last year there wasn't a spot of oil under it... now i have some redish fluid from the transfer case and the whole length of the diesel tank has a strip of wet fluid... kinda like its slowly soaking through that plastic liner that surrounds the tank... the wetness strip for lack of better term is about 5 inches wide and runs the full length of the tank... but no puddle under the truck yet... the oil pan has leakage around the seal but looks very easy to fix unlike my 02 my personal problems... by May I will have 3 boys under the age of 4... i have an 02 quad cab which needs some work... rust is taking over the rocker panels under each door and inside the door... we have a f150 super crew for the wife and will be moving back to the city for work really soon (yuk) grandpa's cabin is still in the family so either diesel will still get plenty of wrk driving back and fourth... its very remote and needs lots of work as well so i will make a few trips every year with a diesel alone... but one truck has to go... trying to decide if it should be the 95 or 02 cummins...i will get the 95 running and take it from there... if i sell it i will pour some money into my 02 or sell both and look for a clean 2007 5.9 mega cab so you see if i ever one take the kids dirt biking in 4 or 5 years the 95 just wont cut it..... is the 95 better on fuel then my 02... i drove it when it was new and i remember it feeling slow! Sorry just saying... yes the truck was left bone stock... no upgrades of any kind On anther note I thought all cummins were made in mexico this truck was built in the USA is that common?

Hey guys help me out here i need a lot of advise... where to start.... as the post says I inherited grandpa's cabin truck... 1995 cummins two tone beautiful truck full loaded except leather... 92700 km... don't know what that is in mile but she's low... 50k maybe? anyhow you get the point... problems... truck was in one accident front axle replaced... at dealer... the truck has been parked in a heated garage for 5 years without being started... i looked at it last week and the transfer case was leaking fluid and same with the diesel tank???? Not sure why but the housing for the diesel tank had dampness on it but i honestly couldn't tell if it was diesel... other then this i know nothing else... vehicle never winter driven, always stored inside and never towed more then a single axle utility trailer.. what does a guy need to do to get this vehicle running? Should a guy just have it towed to the dealer? on the advise not will this truck be hard to maintain in the future? I have 3 boys and an 02 cummins with 310k on it... could a motor swap be done if i had to? Not sure its worth it to keep this beauty but i'd sure like too... make it my hunting, fishing and dirt bike truck
