  1. Hey Y'all, I'm Mick.I drive a '01 2500 QCLB, I love m,y truck a.k.a. "The Black Pearl". I do all my own work, dive in head first and hope for the best most of the time. But I manage to get-r-done! I build, customize and repair fire trucks for a living, also build rustic furniture on the side. I am an EVT certified technician. I love learning more about these awesome engines and am excited to be on board here. Feel free to ask anything lol.
  2. I have the same issue with my power seats. If I push the other buttons and wiggle a little I can usually get em to work. Also I did notice that the other movements are not as apparent as the fwd/aft movement. I think the switch its self is bad but I have not confirmed it.
  3. It took me all of three hours to do mine, it's very simple once you understand how the dash comes down. Be careful and don't rush or tug. I cracked my dash in two spots because I got a little impatient. Take your time and focus, you'll be fine. As with every project, pictures and notes along the way help.Definitely, as already stated, change your evaporator while in there. I also changed my blower motor, not a must but it was out so it got done.
  4. Hey Guys,So my dash lights and headlight switch lights are out. The 5amp fuse that protects that circuit is popped and I replaced it, it popped within 30 minutes of replacing. Is this caused by a bad headlight switch? What tests can I do to find this issue? :shrug:Thanks
  5. I have twin 6" miter cut stacks on my 01, I also run a muffler and the noise is not bad even with both windows down. at idle and normal crusin' speed you hear the engine moe than the exhaust. Under heavy load or hard acceleration the exhaust can get pretty loud. I originally had no muffler but it was unbearable on long trips. A few headaches and a really upset fiance later, I put the muffler on er. I can still haul a cord of wood with ease, Even with my toolbox back there. Plywood, dimensional and rough cut lumber at 12' is no issue either. Only issue was stone, it was a pain to get all of it out, lol . Another bigger I ran into was plastic bags, I threw few bags back there and 40 minutes later when I got home I smelled burning plastic. Well the bags found the hot stacks and melted, lol. Mick
