"I think I'm crazy" cab swap
The driver side is even worse. Started to take apart the red dodge last night ... easy going. It's been oil sprayed for since new I think. Real slimy but no rust and no issues yet with the bolts.

"I think I'm crazy" cab swap
With regards to the extended cab, I'll need to transfer 2 cab mounts and hopefully there are no other surprises. It's a 164" cab & chassis, so length is fine. I'm going to cut about 20" off the front and move the headache rack back.

"I think I'm crazy" cab swap
Hi Everyone, My cab, fenders & interior are ratty & rusted. I've found a donor truck & i'm about to attempt a cab swap from an '01 1500 gasser, auto, extended cab Laramie to a '99 3500 diesel, 5speed, Reg. cab, base model. I have the shop manual in pdf for the '99 and I've done a lot of research already. I'm going to try and document the swap here if there seems to be any interest and I'm sure I'll have many questions for you guys along the way. Wish me luck ... I'll need it. Points I've thought of: cab mounts, clutch/brake pedal mount, gauge cluster, among others. Any heads up on things I might not have thought of yet would be appreciated. First Question: I'm not sure what electrical changes there were from '99 to '01. Does anyone have the electrical pages in pdf that I can have to review any differences. Please PM me. I'm currently reviewing and highlighting the diesels portions of the electrics in my manual. Thanks in advance for any help. I'll add some pictures soon.

FASS Pressure Question
Not yet ... I'm going to order that kit from FASS and get a proper pressure gauge before I do anything further. I haven't had the chance to investigate more .. life's getting in the way.

1st Gear or 2nd?
2nd gear start, even lightly loaded and I usually get out of the clutch before applying any throttle.

FASS Pressure Question
Thanks Cody. This diesel thing is new to me, but I'm learning. I've checked the lines .. no kinks. I'm going to do the bucket test on the weekend to rule out the sending unit supply and I'm going to get a permanent in cab gauge to replace the temp one I have under the hood. If all clear, I'm going to start shimming the return spring. Thanks again.

New revised MPG/High idle switch design
My '99 has the cubby hole. My airbag switch is where your power point is.

FASS Pressure Question
I installed a FASS system (see my sig) on the weekend as per instructions except that I installed the supply to the stock filter housing (with gutted filter) to maintain my heater & pressure sensor. The other supply end connected to the stock sending unit and power directly to the battery. It did quiet down the engine a bit, less rattle.I have a small marshal 15psi mech. pressure gauge attached to the stock filter housing with a snubber. Before the install I saw 7psi @ idle with a slight drop @ wot, after the FASS install, I'm seeing only 10.8 or 11psi. I expected the advertised 16psi or at least 14. Has anyone else seen numbers this low after install? I haven't contacted FASS yet until I investigated a little further. Any comment or thoughts of where to look would be appreciated.
