Lift pump placement
Thanks Mopartechnican, and KLcammie for the great info! Mopartechnican I didn't realize the Raptor was made to mount by the tank and came with most of the required hardware. I thought it was just a strictly stock location replacement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lift pump placement
So is it really that much better to mount it on the frame? Or would I be able to get by with the stock location? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lift pump placement
Thanks for the info flagmanruss! I was just going with the raptor 100 cause it's cheaper but when you consider that if I want to mount it in the frame I'll have to get a wire harness, a filter before the new pump and I was wanting to go with a 1/2" fuel line from the tank to the VP 44! He'll I might as well get the Air a Dog 100 or 150 lol which I think includes everything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lift pump placement
Yea that's what I had planned on buying was the Raptor 100. I take it that the wiring from the old motor mounted pump will be able to connect to it even if it's on the frame? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lift pump placement
Thanks Flagmanruss for that link! However I don't have a welder so that's probably out if the question. Too bad AirDog doesn't make the short bed bracket anymore that's the one I'll be needing. So I understand that it's better to mount the FRRP into the frame however it's made to be mounted in the stock location wouldn't this work out fine since it's made to be put there even though it will be a pull pump at that point? Also do I have to replace the draw straw when doing this install or can I utilize the old one? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lift pump placement
Thanks flagmanruss! Yea I defiantly might try mounting it to the frame. So you wouldn't have to drill to holes in the frame to mount it correct? As far as the filter before the pump yea I'm defiantly going to do that. Thanks guys for impute!!? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lift pump placement
Ok gentleman for those of you with much more experience than me I am going to be getting a Raptor FRRP 100 shortly. Now according to the installation instructions your supposed to put it in the stock location. However I keep reading about other Cummins owners putting it as close to the fuel take as possible and mounting it to the frame. So my question is should I go by the instructions and mount that bad boy in the stock location? Or should I mount it on the frame? And if so on the frame why? Thanks in advance for all that chime in with there knowledge and experience!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lol! Ok here's another elementary question lol I here people talking about pyro and Boost gauges but I seen were people talk about what is for? and the importance of keeping an eye on it with a gauge? Thanks for your help with my elementary questions lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Raptor FRRP or FASS DDRP ?
Yea I think I'll just put the gauge on there instead of buying a tester save my self some $! Also I've here'd a mechanical gauge is better to go with what's your thought on this? Are they hard to install? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Raptor FRRP or FASS DDRP ?
Yea something else on my list of to do's in this truck. I've had mine about a year now went to Arizona and back to Mississippi towing a car did not have one issue. The only thing I've had to do to her is I recently replaced the starter contacts. I did put a K/N filter in her but thanks to Mopar1973Man's web site I'll be replacing it with a BHAF soon! The only reason I believe I need a lift pump is because I've always had trouble keeping her running after a fuel filter change. I all ways have to crack the injection lines to get the air out and then it's smooth sailing. Plus i don't her a pump running when I turn the key on but she always fires up? Raptor FRRP or FASS DDRP ?
Oh ok thanks again Utah Dually!! I was reading that wrong before involving the stock pump versus the stick filter ? speaking of elementary questions lol I have one of my own. I do not have a fuel pressure gage on my truck also something I'll be adding to the old girl anyways I need to test the fuel pressure. How do you use a Fuel pressure tester?? I know I know probably pretty elementary but like I said I'm very new to the Cummins! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Raptor FRRP or FASS DDRP ?
Thanks exactly what I was thinking on the old pump!!? As far as the 2 stoke oil goes that's exactly what I got. I made sure to get the same as Mopar1973Man was running since that's were I was informed of this idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Raptor FRRP or FASS DDRP ?
Oh ok thanks for the info Utah Dually. Let me get this straight though. You've got the fuel from the tank going through the filter to the Raptor pump mounted on the frame up to the stock pump then to the 44 right? Just want to make sure I get this right before I do it. Been doing as much home work as possible on this issue of mine before I start wrenching don't want to F**** it up. Also another question for you do you use the 2 stroke oil in your fuel? I m getting ready to do this but am hesitant. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
