The 200 vs 190 thermostat expierment thread.
I just installed the 200°F thermostat today($73 from the dealership!!) and the heat definitely blows a bit hotter, which is good because it's gonna be a looong cold winter.

My Catch can/ vapor canister
Is that really a possibility? I kinda doubt it but better quality silicone hose might be a better choice.

My Catch can/ vapor canister
I think 3/4" heater hose with a couple elbows is the way to go, it would just blend in with all of the other hoses and would be much more durable than plastic pipe, especially in extreme temperatures.

My Catch can/ vapor canister
Maybe I'll run a pipe straight up through the hood, like a mini hood stack!

My Catch can/ vapor canister
I agree, I didn't want the pipe across the engine either although I'm sure it serves it's purpose very well. If there was a one piece hose kit that took the same route I would consider getting it but the white plastic pipe just turns me off. Mine seems to be working well so far and I'm not really concerned about losing oil from being on a steep angle with my truck but that will be something to keep in mind if I ever do end up on a steep angle. As for looks, mine is simply a hose going into a canister and a hose coming out and it's tucked up out of the way and can't be seen unless you crawl under the truck. I may eventually remove or block off this whole breather set up and just add a small breather filter to my oil cap...oil stays in the engine, gasses escape.

I have seen that set up and I'm sure it works great but I personally didn't want to have a bunch of plastic pipe running across the engine.

My Catch can/ vapor canister
I just threw this catch can together with some 2" abs pipe and fittings from home depot for about $30. The hose was previously hanging down just past my front sway bar so it didn't get any oil on the engine or rad but it would still drip on my driveway and gunk up my steering linkage, front axle, underside of the engine and I had a habit of hitting my forehead on it whenever I would climb under the front of my truck...so I decided to make a canister to contain the oil but still let the gasses out. It has a chunk of steel wool in front of the outlet to act as a filter and a brass drain fitting on the bottom. Inlet and outlet are 3/4 ID hose and it is zip tied securely to my sway bar and steering box brace. I'll get some better pics of it later...

New revised MPG/High idle switch design
You are right, I will have to get a 100K potentiometer, unless I can find one in between 50K and 100K. The 50K won't add enough resistance to fool the ecm into thinking it's cold enough to kick in 3 cyl. I ordered the connectors from Caspers today, going to get a 100K pot for $4 from a local electronics supply store tomorrow. If the pot doesn't work how I want it to I will use dpdt switches with resistors to simulate the temps required for high idle and mpg.

New revised MPG/High idle switch design
Before I order one of these, I am going to attempt to make my own using a 50K potentiometer and a switch that I can use to toggle between actual intake air temp coming from the sensor and whatever I want to dial the temp into on the pot...I will be able to set it at a specific resistance for each of the following: 3 cyl high idle, 6 cyl high idle or mpg+ and I can monitor what temp the ECU sees through my edge CS. I will also add another switch/ resistor for the coolant temp sensor. Any thoughts on this?

New revised MPG/High idle switch design
I'm a new member to this site and this is my first post here...Is it possible to buy one of these with the switches mounted in a box instead of in a cubby or gauge pod? I'd like a simple box that I can mount under the dash or where ever...it's getting cold here in Winnipeg, I need this unit asap!
