  1. There's just one plug port on mine also.
  2. These gauges uses nylon tubing and I just don't trust them so the needle valve is there to cut off flow. Thanks for the suggestion.Eugene
  3. I have a mechanical oil pressure gauge from another project that I want to use on the 05. I know the port on top of the oil filter housing will work but I'm using a needle valve. It wont fit because there's a hose right next to it. Is there any other port I can use? Thanks,Eugene
  4. I really didn't think we get 2 pages out of this and I'm glad we got good ways on how to clean the corrosion off. I've always used the electric glop my friend gives me. I don't know what's it's called but it works really well. The problem is the PO didn't really take care of the truck. I wouldn't have let it get that way in the first place. Keep them clean and they'll work better.Eugene
  5. That's what I'm kinda worried about. I do like that it's shorter but I'm not sure on how well it will work. The gauge is stead at 8-9psi at idle so I'm crossing my finger it will supply enough fuel. I hope I don't do anything bad to the motor trying to save a few bucks. Your posts on cf.com had been very helpful. Thanks, Eugene
  6. Well it's on and what a PITA. Cat filter w/ base. This is not the kits the vendors sell w/ baldwin base. I was going to get the vendor kit but I couldn't return this one because I scratch up the filter trying to remove it. I can't remember what this model number is but it's ports was really small. I decided to drill it out to 1/4". Got the rest of the fitting and hose from Vulcan. I then had to fab up a bracket which is a 1/4". This filter is suppose to be the new 2 micron filter but when I cycle the fuel pump, it almost filled up a liter bottle. Is this right? I would think it's would be less. That fuel pump is strong. I also replace the banjo bolt to the filter housing to a bore out one from geno's garage. So here some pix. edit: Filter/base is CAT 308-7480. Eugene

LOL...I say a little better air flow. First thing I do when I get a vehicle, the stock air box goes. Then the exhaust. I know that it doesn't gain much if any power but I like more air flow. I can't say if they filters better then stock filter but they all claim theirs do so I go w/ it. I do stick w/ dry media filter verses one that you have to oil. JMO.Eugene

Nice. That's what I'm going to do except I"m going to use a smaller filter and make a shield. Eugene
  9. Great. I'll replace it. Thank you. Eugene
  10. Did anyone changed out the banjo fitting that feeds the stock fuel filter housing? Is it necessary? I have a bored out banjo bolt from gene's garage that I bought for the 98. If it's not necessary, then I'd just leave it alone.Eugene

Me three. I'm thinking about getting some tubing and an aem dry filter on there. Then just need to figure how to mount that sensor. edit: Willy Whistler.http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/dev/showthread.php?t=129265 Eugene
  12. Your right Rogan. Mine is exactly like that. Weird. Then I had more fun. Passenger side clamp won't budge. Tried to pry if off w/ straight screw driver and the whole post comes off. I thought I was strong but I didn't think I was that strong. That whole battery was toast. And while trying to get that post out of the clamp, I torn one of the ear off. That lead was soft. I decided to cut both clamps off and got one of those clamped on ends. It's just temporary so I could get the truck running. Going to a real auto parts to get some clamped for the I posts. Sodder, heat shrink and it should be good for a while.Eugene
  13. I got some baking soda and water sitting on the terminals. The good hardware store is closed so I'll wait until tomorrow to get this nut off. I got all your suggestions down so I don't think I'll have problem. Thanks for all the help.Eugene
  14. Yes, I did but I didn't force it. I didn't want to round out that nut. It's been raining all morning so I haven't messed with it. I'm pretty sure if I force it with a vice grip, it's going to break off. Do you think that corrosion eroded that bolt down to that size?
  15. I think that's want I'm going to do. There is just not a way to take that nut out. Here is few pictures of it. Eugene
  16. I did try to to turn the nut w/ channel lock but it won't budge. I didn't want to mess up that nut yet. I'll do the baking soda/water and clean it out first. Thank you both for the help.Eugene
  17. ISX.No it's not a 1/2" like the positive terminal or 7/16. My 11/32 fits over it but it wont grab. I was very surprised it's that small. I should of taken a picture. I'll do that tomorrow. Now I kinda wonder if the PO replaced it but both negative connector are the same. Strange.Eugene
  18. Hey everyone.I need to clean corrosion on the battery terminals on my 05. I'm having problem w/ finding the right socket/wrench size that fits that nut. It's small w/ the small bolt which looks to me to be 1/8". Anyone know the size of that nut? I can fit a 11/32 over it but it won't catch. 5/16 and 8mm is too small. It's got so much crud that I can't really tell if it's a nut at all. Really appreciate the help. Thanks,Eugene
