I recently removed my stock turbo for a SXE and have a friend that is looking for a HX35, so he asked me if my old turbo was an HX35 and I have no clue. Anybody know how or where I can locate that info? Or anybody know what should have been on the truck stock?

If you don’t mind me asking what else did you have done to the truck? Upgraded intercooler or anything of that sort?

@Me78569 any issue pulling or daily street driving? I’m regearing the truck for sure just questioning if I should upgrade to 225s or not. Sorry I’m kinda chasing my tail here and you guys seem to have much more experience and expertise with these trucks thank I do. I’m really learning along the way.

Yes just cruising around trucks at 750 doing 25-35 mph. I think the guy was just trying to hustle me for some money. He wanted to sell me a turbonics s400 series turbo along with intercooler, boots, and new pipes.

I recently just met with a Diesel tech here in Henderson and he told me almost the complete opposite of what you guys have said. So idk if he’s nuts or what. He told me my EGT problem is a turbo problem. With 125HP Injectors I should be running a 369 or even a single s400. Says my 364 isn’t creating nearly the airflow I need lol

Was given a quote for a local shop to do the gears and it was pretty steep cuz I have to change the rear case, was hoping if I went to 4.56 I wouldn’t have to change case and save some cash. Well 4.56 and higher I have to break the case so I’ll going to just bite the bullet and do the 4.88ss

what do you guys think about 4.56 on 37s?

I believe I have a Vacuum leak on my 99 24v, at idle when I push on the breaks the trucks idle drops and my cruise control no longer works, I’ve checked all fuses and no blown fuses, so I figured must be vacuum, anybody have a diagram or anything of that sort where all the vacuum lines run?

How can I identify what my axles are so I get the right gears?

I under stand the gears will fix the egt issue but somebody mentioned that my 125HP Injectors were too small for my 364 turbo so after I do the gears I’d like to use the turbo to its potential

So I’ve ordered new 4.88 gears, but was curious if with my s364sxe would be best with bigger Injectors, or if I could use it as my big turbo for a compound set up with my stock turbo?

Fires up fine, idles fine and drives up to 15-20 mph then won’t leave 1st gear

Yes fill it up and truck runs good again shifts fine and runs like it should

I don’t think so, 34 gallon tank and only takes 24 to fill it up.

I haven’t gotten an engine code since I’ve owned the truck. It does it every time I hit 1/4 tank

Hey guys on my 99 24V when ever my tank gets to 1/4 tank my truck goes into a lim mode, truck will still tell me I have X amount of miles until empty. Won’t leave 1st gear or exceed 20MPH. I think it’s something todo with the sending unit but really not sure any help is greatly appreciated

My speedo is off 15 MPH any ways haha And doesn’t move until I’m going 15-20mph

It’s been months since I have tested it I can’t remember what it was, can I still drive the truck without the abs computer?

Pretty sure my abs computer is bad I’ve replaced both wheel sensors and the one on the rear diff, every computer we hook up to it says a short of some sort. I think 4.88s would be best for me. Considering I only pull the 5th wheel 3-4 times a year less than 500 miles each way. Any place you gear company’s you recommend or that I should stay away from?

His 5th wheel is lifted he mainly takes it to the dunes in california. I’m getting ready todo a stage 2 pan off kit for the trans as well as a deep pan to help with the trans so trans should be in very good shape for towing. My biggest worrie with the truck is lowering EGTs and a ABS light I can’t seem to get rid of.

A friend of mine pulls his 5th wheel with 39s. Gear swap is going to be 1st on my todo list now. I can build 35lbs of boost I have my Quadzilla set to defuel at 35. Should I look for 4.88s or what do you guys suggest?

So if I was to sell my turbo or trade it for a 62 you think it would be a better overall truck? You know more about the trucks then I do

I want to use the truck as a strong and reliable daily driver, use it a few times a year to pull a 5th wheel and I also use it for hunting and sometimes just fooling around. Not going for 800HP or anything of that sort but a good strong truck that I can use for pretty much anything.
