  1. No, I don't hear any noise. I will just have to pull the cover off just to take a look and make myself feel better. Thanks.
  2. Thanks guys, just hoping it doesn't mean anything bad.
  3. I will watch it and see what happens. Guess if nothing else I will pull cover off, drain oil, and try to clean and refill.
  4. So, I bought my truck a few months ago. Nice condition, well taken care of but was completely stock. I talked to previous owner and he said he had transmission built with heavy duty parts for towing and at the same time he went through and replace ring and pinion, seals, bearings in rear end at same time. I am and have done some upgrades but just want a good maintained reliable truck. Sorry I am going on and on but getting back to having rear end redone. When I changed the rear differential speed sensor today I pulled old one out and there were metal filings on the piece that sits inside the rear end. I thought maybe from before it was redone. So I put new one in and didnt put any oil on o-ring so I pulled it and put some oil on o-ring and noticed metal shavings on new sensor end. Do you think there is some wear already on new rear end or leftover from when they redid the rear end and obviously didnt clean it out very well? Not sure how that sensor is set in there to know if its from before or now? There is 10,000 miles on tranny rebuild and rear end. The only thing I have pulled is a boat and smaller trailers under 5,000 lbs.
  5. I did drive to another town and got a rear differential speed sensor from a Dodge dealership and changed it in about 20 minutes, mainly because its in an awkward spot, and works great!!! The old one was split apart I imagine from age. Thanks everyone, couldn't have done it without you! Am gonna post a new thread on issue when I took old one out though:(
  6. It is called a rear differential speed sensor? Is that a Dodge dealership only item? I called my local NAPA and they didn't have a listing for rear differential speed sensor in their computer system. They said I might need to call a Dodge dealer or unless its called something else. Thanks!
  7. If I went with a scangauge could I still use the Quadzilla XZT+ or would I have to pull that out? I guess same question with the Smarty if you know? Thanks!
  8. Last question I have for you guys to help me with thats probably pretty simple to answer. Obviously because I have a 99 I cant read codes with using the key switch trick. I currently have a quadzilla xzt+ chip. I am looking for something to give alittle boost that is fairly easy to hook up that will read codes. I can't make a decision on spending the money on an edge juice with attitude because of price and I don't think I would use more than 60hp, smarty, or scan gauge. Everyone has something different and I figured you guys could give me a suggestion on what I should go with for my needs. Thank you!
  9. Hi there guys. A couple days ago I was driving down the highway and the ABS and brake light came on. Wasn't sure if it was anything big so I pulled over and shut truck off, restarted and lights were off. I asked someone and they said it was common and no big deal. Now, last night both came on, won't go off and now my speedometer wasnt working at low speeds in town but then when I would get to 45mph or so it would jump up and when I would slow down, it would drop to zero again. Is this an issue with the batteries or something bigger or are they separate problems? I have the 99 and no code reader so just trying to figure it out! I did have brakes changed about a month ago and the mechanic said my drivers side battery was weak. I plan on replacing both batteries this morning and hopefully that will help! The batteries are from 07 so it's probably time anyways. Thanks for your help guys!
  10. Hi everyone. I had guages installed about a month ago. They are fuel pressure, exhaust temp, and boost. The shop I took the truck to mounted the system to check fuel pressure on the top of my fuel filter housing. I have heard that some people have done this but what I wanted to know is it pretty accurate to have in this spot? I am running about 10psi at idle according to the gauge and I am installing an AirDog100 this next week but wanted to make sure it was right. Thank you!
  11. I appreciate the answer, I did torque them to 32ft-lbs. Its running great. It was cracked all the way through. Turbo kicks in alot better now. Thanks everyone for info.
  12. Thank you for the help. I will do some more research on it.
  13. I have been thinking about getting a book and also I did print off of a site that had the sequence, I just needed to make sure what the ft-lbs were on a 99 cummins?
  14. I am going to be changing my Exhaust Manifold in my 99 Cummins and not sure what to torque the bolts at. I was trying to search and came up with 23, 32 and 44 so I have no idea what it should be for a 99. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You
