  4. yea doing some reading and need output, tail housing and tc. So far ive found a tc for about 475 shipped, then tail housing on ebay are around 150 or so and then the shaft which is over 400 on quad 4x4. Then the work. Damn :banghead:I saw someone selling a complete nv5600 4x4 for 3000 thats seems a little much no? It has over 200k on it too.

  7. Well i changed my output shaft seal on the NV5600 and when everything was bolted back up and fluid filled in the TC the TC doesnt wana shift out of 2wd. The shifter does not wana budge. Truck went into gear and had no issue there but cant engage 4x4 or put it in N. Did i do something wrong?? Please help me out.Thanks
  8. Well after gettin my 02 totaled by a Jack A$$ and not having a truck for 4 months and having diesel withdrawal I finally got another truck. I wanted the same options if not a better and I got myself a pretty good replacement. Its a 01.5 High Output 4x4 6spd. Only difference this time is the 4x4. This one has a few upgrades. Rebuilt Trans with Valair SD and a new VP44. Has rv275, edge comp, Banks intake horn, AFE intake (which i will be replacing) Magnaflow 4" TBE, Raptor 150, 08.5 end links and drag link with Bilstein stabilizer, BD Box Brace. Its leveled with Weld Racing Cheyennes and 35s. Do not like the wheel back spacing and offset so will try to sell the wheels and tires and get some more stock spacing wheels in 17s and get some 295/70/17. Its got Leather heated seats which is a nice add on that i wanted. I plan on taking my stereo from the old truck and the ATS 3pc and new gauges that were in it and the fast coolers from the trans. I will also be swapping the rear ends cuz this one has 4.10s and old one had 3.55s. Do not like the high rpms or the mileage its currently has. All in all its not a bad truck. But it will not replace my old truck. I eventually will repaint it white. The plan is to get Backwood front and rear bumpers and change the wheel setup and paint. Dont plan on to many engine mods. This will be more of a tower for my race car.

  10. From the searches ive been doing there is a seal on the output shaft of the trans.
  11. The research ive done seems to say that the rear seal on the nv5600 is leaking. Where is the best place to get a seal and is there any seals on the transfer case that i should do since it will be off? The trans was rebuilt less than 20k miles ago so seems weird that its leaking that soon. Here is a pic of where the leak is coming from and it is yellow in color and i dont mean the yellow paint lol. Cant see the oil in the picture. Want to make sure i get the right seals that will fix the problem. Thanks

  13. Ok i have my 02 that was crashed and an 01. Both are H.O. 6pds. The 02 is 2wd and other is 4x4. I want to put the 02 in the 01. Has way less miles and is just in better shape. Will i have to swap computers? I want to take the gauge cluster from the 02 to have the miles match the engine. Should i have an issue or will this be an easy swap? The other thing is the 01 has a 15k old VP vs the 02 having a 80k or so old VP. Are the pumps the same with the two years? I would like to take the newer pump during the swap.Thanks

  15. Ok so i was in an accident about 4 months ago and the truck is being totaled by other partys insurance. Ive only had it a year and i havent made a big dent in the loan so after its paid off i wont have much left to play with so i am gona be looking for a new truck. I liked having the 6spd. I dont want to go to low on year. Wana avoid the 53 block and KDP problem. I had great mpg on my truck so wana stick with same options. I am willing to hear some advise and opinions. My question is is a 5 spd better than the 6spd. I know that the 6 spd have the Dana 80. Anyways what shall i get??   16. Not the truck the race car has been a project for a year. Just saying that i was almost ready to take it to a shop for the last part and then this happened.
  17. Well i should have gotten a Road Armor Bumper and maybe it would have helped a little. A guy decided to cut in front of me and make a left as i was going straight. Light turned yellow and one guy cut in front but had time to make it but the 2nd guy didnt make it. Witness confirmed that it was a yellow light 15 different ways to my insurance. She thought that the guy making the left had right of way. I cant believe california gives away drivers licenses that easy. Plus they do not do anything to people that drive around with no insurance. Amazing state! No i have to wait for his insurance to investigate. The truck still started and went into gear and drove up the tow truck bed so thats a good thing. Not sure if the intercooler is busted but will have to wait and see. What makes this even worse is that this truck is my race car hauler and my car was pretty much ready to go to the tuner and off to the track. Well so much for that.   18. Even though i wont tow a lot of weight. I will be towing to Vegas and Phoenix and Bakersfield during summer months and it gets hott out here in southwest. From the research i did i read that some ppl saw a drop of like 45 degrees or so. Wouldnt that be part of having extra fluid and that the temp sensor for the gauge is in the cooler itself? Im so stuck on this i dont know what to do
  19. Ive been trying to research this and not getting the answers im looking for. Is it worth getting those coolers that is offered on Genos Garage for the nv5600? I dont tow much weight when i do to atleast for now. Once in a while i might tow 10k but thats in a blue moon. I am going to be changing fluids soon and will add the extra quart or two and just want to know if it really is worth it. Also im hearing different things about fluids and shifting smoother. Some say royal purple and other amsoil or redline. Any input on thatThanks
  20. Where should i get timing cover seals and crank seals from? Want to fix my leaks in the front. Any preferred companies to use?
  21. I was at the LVMS the whole weekend for PSCA. Always a good time though. Second time at the strip and 3rd time in vegas.

  23. Well i finally got to tow a good amount of weight than i ever do to Vegas from LA. Towed a steel enclosed car trailer that weighed in at about 10500 with the car. Now being steel wasn't the big problem but being that its got 8 ft ceiling inside was. Almost twice as high as the truck. Anyway the way there we averaged about 60-65 mph and about 50-55 on the steep grades. Kept the egts below 1100 going up the steep grades. Finally when we got to vegas had to fill up so hand calculated the mpg and it was about 9-10. Now on the way back topped off and weighed everything and came in at 16700. We had a crap load of rear axle weight over 5000 lbs and over 3000 in front. To much tongue weight. The way back hand calc mpg was 13.5 doing an evg of 55 and 45 going up the steep grades. I loved that if i wanted to speed up while going up the grades it can do it no problem.Is there any secret to towing alot of weight or even any weight and improve mpg. What i normally tow is a 1400 # trailer and 2600# car and its not an import.
  24. Today i put in 11.7 gallons. Before i left i topped off from a lil below half a tank. All together after 308 miles i used 11.7 gallons. Way better than my old F250 7.5L
