  1. I was at another Shell station and instead of the FIT diesel, they were advertising "Power Service". It looks like they have joined up with them and use them as an additive. I know its marketing, just look at all of the crap they say about gasoline with its detergents and anti "Gunk" cleaners. I have to laugh because they sound like they are markiting to a bunch of soccer moms in mini vans, "This fuel cleans Gunk out of your engine, buy it". Yeah, Ok. I' confused a litlle about cetane, Why do they say it raises cetane levels and performance when by looking at the charts that raising cetane lowers btu and hurts performance? - - - Updated - - - I guess another question would be that I see alot of additives, saying that they raise cetane, why do the additive folks want to raise cetane?
  2. Shell has introduced a new diesel in my area, they call it FIT diesel. They claim to have corrosion inhibitors, anti gel and anti wear protection added. The station by me has had in the past 10% bio diesel. So i did not run any two stroke in that. I want to ask the company some questions as they also claim to have raised the cetane level in the new fuel. If you google shell fit diesel they have a FAQ section on their site but have very vague answers. I guess my question is, what do i specifically ask them for? Cetane score? HHFR score? What? Anyone that knows diesel may be able to decipher what it is saying but i can't. Do i run two stroke with this new diesel? Will mileage suffer?
  3. Ok, Got the BD Stealth plate on and it works now. My tap wasn't real good. I would hold it up and test it with a meter and get 12v, but after putting the aps bracket back on it would move it enough to not connect. I didnt have the EZ tap thing, i had one of the blue crimp deals, well the wire being small i really didnt want to cut the wire so i didnt give it enough force to get a good tap. The plate sure made it easier. Got smoke now! I'm not after smoke but i was using it as an indication of weather power was there or not. Have you guys noticed a big difference in mileage using 5x3 vs. 5x5? This tank im running on full Hot Mguillicuddy and the power is pretty nice but the mileage wont be that great.
  4. That's the thing. Its on an 02 H.O. Six speed. I'm not smoking the block out in any gear. I got a good puff with my EZ going from fourth to fifth and a bit into sixth. I wouldnt say i had mosquito killing smoke from the comp now. Would I get 12v at the tap if I didnt get the right wire?
  5. Stealth plate is on the way, the comp got here before the plate did I was just itching to get it hooked up. I dunno, i guess i was expecting a real butt kicker. So far i'm not feeling the wow factor. Gonna recheck and give it a try out of the city tomorrow
  6. Discount tire lost one of mine after new tire install, got home and it was gone, they ordered fromdealer and shipped it to my house free of charge. Not to hyjack, but there are some shops out there that will own up and replace them.
  7. I "think" i got it. Top wire set, looks like it runs to the center of the Injector tubes, there are two wires in the bundle, i tapped the one closest to the engine block. Unit powers on and no check engine light so i know the power and map is connected ok, test drove it and i dont know if it is all there. I had an EZ before. I dont have that "WHOA" feel to it. Should I? How do I know if my tap is good? - - - Updated - - - I know, search before asking a stupid question. Ive got 12 v at the tap, so all is good. Just thought there would be more on the bottom end, stock turbo, stock injectors. I think she will run once i get the turbo spooled up, didnt have quite the room testing it in town.
  8. Finally got a comp for my 02. I'm reading the directions and I'm having trouble deciphering where and what wire to tap. " Top wire closest to engine block". Anyone know what color this one is? Stock VP the engine is an H.O. Also, the instructions say nothing about the ground wire, can this go anywhere? Where did you guys that have one put it. - - - Updated - - - Never mind, ten pages into the search someone directed me to the Juice installation page from Edge. Alot better picture than the Comp page.
  9. I got the bottle of PAG, 8 oz. i havent looked at the compressor real close yet, just noticed the sticker saying no oil in compressor. On a sode note, after i install the new compressor, do i have to vaccume the system, really? Or if i just unhook and hook up the lines and recharge will it be ok. My system worked great, just the clutch took a dump on me. - - - Updated - - - I got the bottle of PAG, 8 oz. i havent looked at the compressor real close yet, just noticed the sticker saying no oil in compressor. 10. No, there os a sticker on it that says it contains no oil
  11. I toasted my AC compressor, i got a new one and a a bottle of oil. There are no instructions so how much oil do I put in the compressor?
  12. Aaaaaaaaa.... Yeah, its a jam nut. It keeps the inner screw from adjusting itself. Loosen the nut, turn the inside screw with screwdriver. Be careful, the pressure rises with very little adjustment. Do it in 1/4 turns. Shouldnt take more than that. After getting the idle pressure to 19. Hold the inner screw with screwdirver while tightning the jam nut. You dont want to move the inner screw while tightning the jam nut.
  13. Air lift. 5000 lb. ones on mine.
  14. I figured this was the case. It is the first "over" stock clutch i have had in any of my trucks. It is one of those things you dont really hear about much when upgrading clutches. Mine is getting better but when the sheet that came with it wants 500 miles of break in and it has been about 3000 i was wondering if somethin was wrong.
