Having a dead pedal issue on my 2002 24v auto. codes are p0122 p0236 p1475. problem is very intermittent. New apps sensor after confirming all apps power grounds and signals were good. when i have a pedal map and apps reading are were they should be, when problem is occurring map voltage is maxed out and apps signal is all over the place. Initially thought short between apps wiring and map wiring, could not find such short and did not notice change during wiggle test of harness nor could i measure continuity between apps and map circuit. Starting to think bad ecm, the problem did start after bleeding my low pressure fuel system getting diesel all over driver side of engine. Fuel pressure is good. If anyone could help that would be great.

Evening Ya'll, 1st things 1st, THANK YOU MIKE! THIS SITE ROCKS! I've been using this as my service help for the last few weeks. I picked up a 2002 Ram 2500 SLT, Automatic, 4x4, short bed. Got what I thought was a good deal. I drove it 150 miles home, it was a DOG. I pulled 2 codes, P0112 (IAT v low) and P0237 (MAP v low). Using Mike's trouble shooting guides for the above DTC codes, after much wire tracing, ground cleaning, and testing both sensors are good along with the corresponding wiring..The ECM was bad. OK...FAST FORWARD to the 14th of March. My new (rebuilt) ECM came in, programmed ready to go. Installed the ECM, hooked up two fulled charged batteries, and proceeded to do the APP reset. Started the truck, idled well, CEL is on. Scanned the truck, these are new code that I have never had before. I got P0122 (APPS/TPS v sig. v low) and P0236 (MAP too High to Long). Again following Mikes guides, The TPS looks good. The throttle is idle or WO, no matter the position of the throttle. I monitored the APP voltage, the was a clean gradual increase, no jumping. I'm at about .560v at idle, as I press the throttle the APP voltage at the PCM #23 sweeps nicely, when the voltage hits about .83x the engine goes WO. Here the video from this morning. I look forward to the the knowledge gained. Semper Fi. Hoss

hey, i am getting the p0122-(pedal position sensor voltage too low) trouble code with check engine light on my 24 valve cummins. i did the diagnostic procedures listed on this website for that trouble code, on steps 4 and 5 of the listed procedures i got an "O.L" reading on my DVOM which means "open line" i guess? can any one tell me what this means or what i need to do to fix my dead pedal issue (always at beginning of the gear if it happens) ? im pretty new to this cummins and this website. any responses would great! thanks. STEPS 4 and 5 4. Ensure APPS connector is still disconnected. Disconnect ECM connector. ECM is located on driver's side of engine, just in front of fuel transfer pump and contains a 50-pin connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Light Blue/Black wire) on APPS connector. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Light Blue/Black wire. 5. Ensure APPS and ECM connectors are still disconnected. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 5 (Dark Blue/White wire) on APPS connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Blue/White wire.

Got an 01 dually, replaced the lift pump, still no crank, tried the code display it displayed the p pcu then p done then p ecu then p done but no code inbetween either. Got a $300.00 code scanner on the recomendation of another tech, showed no code stored because check engine light not on. I am stumped as to the problem with my truck

My truck (2000 2500 automatic w/103K) has a bad case of dead pedal.I went by Autozone and had them read the codes and the only one was overboost.I cleared it and none have returned. It also has a fairly new fass ddrp lift pump on it.Once in a while it wil take off like normal for 2 or 3 presses of the accelerator; then just return to the same old dead pedal. Can the APPS be checked with a digital volt meter?Any other ideas? probably VP44?thanks in advance.joek

Over the past few days i've found that there is a dead spot in my accelerator pedal where either right off idle or at cruise at about 1/4 pedal the motor will drop in output, and if in OD the converter will pop in and out of lockup as if I were making wild swings with the accelerator pedal. I haven't checked for codes yet, but I haven't seen a check engine light either. Otherwise the truck runs great. New batteries recently, and I really should check contacts and grounds, but its a weird issue regardless. Any bright ideas?

just bought my truck about 2 weeks ago and today when i started it ,i got out on the road and it would not run over 1200 rpm i had to pull over and turn the truck off and then start it back up then it went on no problem the rest of the day. The codes i pulled on truck was PO122 and P1693 on the PCU and P0216 and P1693 on the ECU. Could somebody help on what is the problem. Thanks

O.K.... Trans. starting acting weired, 3-4th gear hunt last week. i recalibrated the APPS and it fixed it, then Last Night coming down the Parkway cruising at 70MPH it started what felt like either jumping out of 4th Gear or TQ unlocking only for a split second, I MEAN IT WOULD ONLY DO IT SEAM LIKE WHEN I WOULD VERY SLIGHTLY DECREASE PRESSURE ON THE PEDAL. It would only last for a split second...... Done the key trick this morning and got "122 code But here's the thing, I just replaced the APPS with TIMBOS 8-months ago. I remember that at first when i put the volt meter on it following Tims instructions on adjusting free travel my orginal voltage was way high over what the instructions said it should be. and even after talking to Tim while doing this We could not get it down...he eventualy said not to worry, just adjust the screw until voltage increase's and back it off.. Could it be the APPS Richie
