Added sport grille... sport headlights and bumper coming soon.

Recommended Posts

It took some modification to the stock grille bracket to make it work, but the install was pretty painless. However, it took "tweaking" the top of my bumper and raising the hood latch to its maximum travel to make it fit. I have a set of sport lights awaiting some relays & diodes, and sooner or later I am going to get a new plate bumper made. It was a perfect night for photos, and I figured you guys would enjoy looking at my baby! (I am not sharing photos of the trucks flaws, but they are slowly being eradicated.) Next on my list is a new cupholder, new overhead light switches, and a functioning A/C Pump! post-11098-138698204412_thumb.jpg

what kind of cupholder you looking for? the stock one, in the bottom of the dash? I may have an extra one floating around...

Yep. Automatic grey cupholder. Mine is totally shot. The sad part though, is that most of them are cracked to bits. :hyper:

I have been harrassing a guy locally here to part with the sport bumpers off of a half ton that has been sitting out in his field for the last year. Last I talked to him he said he would think about what he wanted for them, if he prices them reasonable they will be mine

Get the full brackets for the grille as well, along with hood latches and mechanisms.

What Is different about the hood latch? What color is your bumper?

The Laramie and base model grille uses a different bracket than the Sport and different hood latch(so I am told on the latch), neither of which I have. I had to modify and shave a bit of the bracket and add some mounting holes & spacers to make it fit properly. At present I have such little clearance between the grille and bumper I have to reach through the bumper to pop the hood latch. A new bumper or sport bumper and sport bumper brackets would fix the issue. I could go with a blue or silver bumper. Currently, its just the stock Laramie chrome and black/grey plastic. There a patriot blue or silver one in that field too? :hyper: Heck, if there are two and you want to flip one, my dad has a paint booth and all the old body shop tools, I can repaint!

Thank you I did not know that. The truck and bumpers are that lighter colored blue, almost like a sky blue (not sure of the name of the color). I would gladly trade you if it helped you as I will have to repaint regardless, but I don't think it is what you are looking for.

Eh, I wouldn't be too picky if there is a set for you and an extra... but shipping from OH to CO might make the deal tough. And for the grille bracket, the grille I have is an LMCTruck.com grille. I don't have experience with the OEM ones, however I think they are likely the same. This is also consistent of what I have read on CF.com.

I initially thought you already had one?? But rereading your post you said "coming soon" as in you don't yet have one....sorry bud but only one truck, and I haven't even got a set price out of the guy yet.... He has finally agreed he is ready to sell, hopefully the price will be right.

Good luck, I've had my eye out for a long time. I've added up what the full kit will cost from LMC... :spend: ~1200 or so. I am really planning on just making a plate bumper from Aluminum or steel this fall sometime, but the OEM sport bumper looks really nice.

A steel bumper would be my 1st choice as well, so many deer running around not to mention livestock that tends to get free (believe it or not it is fairly common) I would prefer a steel over sport bumper any day. But in the 6 or 7. Yrs I have owned a Dodge I have yet to come across one I am willing to put the money out for and I am kind of afraid of that extra weight as well. If he's asking even fair market value for these sport bumpers, I'll probably pass, not that they aren't worth it, I'm just that cheap.

CSM I see in your sig you have a hybred hx35/40. did you have it mapped? Im looking into a new turbo for my 98 12V, just curious about the preformance and limitations on boost, spool, ect. Thanks Dave. BTW I second the steel replacement front bumper, I have an outlaw classic <250lb> ordered this month.

I did not. It's a decent turbo. I would only recommend a gated one though. It's a decent turbo. Not all hybrids are created equal though. Some are good some aren't and there are different housings, wheels and bearing kits for them.
