  1. It's been a while since I posted, but earlier this week I got a call from a detective with Indianapolis police department. He told me they may have found my 18ft PJ flatbed trailer that was stolen back in Dec 2009. Got the call today from him saying it was mine. She's back in the driveway, little worse for wear, but mostly functional. I'm happy that I've got it back; never figured I'd see it again, from the night I filed the police report. That being said, I'm still kinda pissed about the damage to the fenders and some other damage to the rest of the trailer. They dont know much else, I guess it was abandoned and found, but I was able to get it back. Just shy of a miracle that after almost 10 years, I got my trailer back. I did find it ironic that at some point, someone bolted weedeaters racks to it, with padlocks to keep the weedeaters locked up. Can't have someone stealing your equipment off a stolen trailer....smh
  2. Took the words out of my mouth! "Hey ya'll, I'm Batman!"
  3. Lol, nope...more of a albino, haha! Got rid of my 96 a few years back...with all the mods, it was getting harder and harder to keep running correctly. Sold it and ended up buying the white 03. It was a well done auto to manual conversion, completely stock except a South Bend dual disc clutch. I've since added a harbor freight 12k winch, which I needed originally for pulling for cutting trees down on a property, an Unagoose goodeneck hitch and most recently an Airdog 100. Not planning on going overboard anymore, just keep it in good running order.
  4. I did try the contact info...figured I'd do it through the site, really felt bad calling you direct...some sort of bug wouldn't let the contact form work for me...but that was a few iterations ago now. Really like what you did with the place!
  5. Hey all, been a while! Got shut out for a few years, lol, couldn't seem to figure out how to get back in- finally did, and I figured I'd drop in and see how things were going! Hmmmm...looks like I need to edit my sig again...
  6. The problem with most of your filters is the difference between filters designed to be oiled, and filters designed to be dry. IIRC, most, if not all of K&N's filters are designed to be oiled. It boils down to physics. N a naturally aspirated engine, air flow is pulled past the air filter at low pressure, so oiling the element will trap the dirt particles within the filter, and they will stay there until then filter finally plugs up, because there's not enough suction to pull them through the filter element. When you add a turbo to the intake, the higher pressure suction is now taking those same oily dirt particles and because its a much higher suction pressure, it wil quickly (in comparison to the naturally aspirated engine) pull those dirt particles through the filter element. Because its oiled, then dirt particles don't have the opportunity to fall out of the filter, and are trapped against the filter element, meaning as soon as the element starts to wear out and spread, more particles are now bing pulled through the filter.

Entertaining, didn't watch the whole thing all the way through, but one part disturbed me,first winch in the video, whoever was filming it was standing next to the winch line and at one point stepped over it...I sent see any weights or blanket on the line, and you never get that close o a line under tension unless you absolutely have to...and the person filming didn't have to, it was a bad decision on their part, and no one else caught it and told hem to back away before it happened...
  8. The Scanguage II can read rail pressure. I've got an 06 Megacab also I just bought, and with the xguage function, you can read rail pressure with it. I know this is an old thread, but figured I'd post in cases anyone was still wondering.
  9. Does anyone have an electronic copy or know where to find one? Need one tonight or tomorrow if possible
  10. This is the style camshaft locking tool I used, worked fine for me. I may hang onto this one, in case I need it for my Jetta, but I found it for about $80, vs the miller tool which from what I gather is around $900 right now....
  11. BTW, I used a Standt 190 tstat, in the upper hose coming off the factory tstat housing. Put a clamp on both sides of it, and never had an issue with it. Worked great, and I left the old one alone, as its a fail open design.
  12. Couldn't send a pm... I've attached a few pages to show the cost of the tools I do have, and then listed what I would like to get...asking about 50% of what I paid new. Unfortunately, I don't have the actual cam locking tool, but the one I did buy was a generic one, that worked...I'll dig it out of the toolbox and take a picture of it for you. Let me know if what you think of the pricing, and I'll hit you up later... www.toolsource.com VM1053 for $30 VM1052 for $22 www.handsontools.com VM9660 for $30 The flash programmer, if Keith will unlock it, for $100,
  13. Let me figure out total cost of the stuff, and I'll throw a price out to you.
  14. I have a generic cam locking tool, not specific to the Jeep, as I couldn't find the jeep one anywhere when I needed it. Let me know what Keith says, im pretty sure I could wipe it and you could use it...had to leave the tune on the Jeep, to keep the CEL off, as I'd deleted my Egr tubes and fcv valve, lol. Didn't want the dealer figuring that out.
  15. If you're interested, I have the GDE tuner box, I'd let go fairly cheap, as well as the cam locking pins and timing belt tensioner tool.
  16. Rancherman....ruh roh. If it makes you feel any better, my buddy has had zero issues with his...I seem to have gotten a bad one...but it was a 2006 liberty CRD...at least you know if you bought it before last week, you didn't get mine! The truck is an 06 Megacab, 4x4, automatic, bone stock except for the flatbed, ranch hand, and a 2.5 leveling kit. 143k mile. I did discover today while hauling a mini excavator, and stopping in my buddy's backyard, that i m going to have to do some work on the tcase...pretty sure the chain is loose, if its not the gears themselves. Other than that, nothing major that I can tell so far. Trans shifts solid, no sloppiness, engine runs smooth, and all the controls work. Kids love it-and they can't kick the back of my seat while drivng! Rancherman, if you want to talk more about the CRD, depending on what you know of it already, feel free to the me a call, 7604053016.
  17. So, after fighting and fixing the jeep, and fixing the jeep, and fixing the jeep, and...well, you get the idea. All the work and never any return. I finally gave up on it and traded it in. Picked this gem up. My plan is to leave it unmolested, using it as my daily driver, and moving the 96 to the work/play truck.
  18. My last deployment, with just clothes and boots, I weighed 185. With my full combat load, (and I carried light, compared to some-kept it down the the bare minimum) I weighed in at 257-72 lbs in armor, water, and ammo.
  19. A friend of mine from college recently had his father disappear in the Raleigh Durham area...they found the car but his dad is still missing...here's the article. Prayers, thoughts and any assistance would be greatly appreciated! If anyone knows anyone living in the area, please get this too them! Seth Hopper http://abc11.com/245123/
  20. Mike while I'm not ruling that out as a possibility, I'm more inclined to think the damage started when 3 out of 4 trans bolts backed out of the transmission, and the last one was loose...I think the play from that driving for about a week or so (who knows...I didn't look until I had some weird symptoms of the trans not shifting right and a clunk) may have cause the pilot bearing to waller out, allowing the input shaft room to flex where it shouldn't have...its possible the main shaft went before 5th gear(maybe not) but considering 5th is at the opposite end, it would get the most amount of play due to physics, potentially creating the destruction pictures...again, who knows, but that's my theory right now.
  21. So, I finally got around to taking my old tranny out, and took the 5th gear cover off to see what had actually happened...this is what I found...good thing I bought a brand new trans instead of just seeing what I needed to replace in 5th gear... and that's not glitter sparkling in the 1st shot....lol
  22. Thanks for all the birthday wishes!
  23. Just an update, I have a job, definitely enjoying it. I started off as the shop guy for a local construction company, in a union shop. A friend of mine got me the job, so I went ahead and took it...The same day I took it, the other job I had applied for called me back- go figure. Worked at the construction company for about a month, but realized soon it was going to be a dead end job. No complaints about the company, but I wouldn't have gone anywhere. I ended up stopping back at the other company, and it turned out that they still really wanted me: made me an offer that same day. I'm now working as a technician on (for now) aerial lift equipment at a large Cat dealer and machinery rental company. Primarily working on JLG boom lifts, and some scissor lifts. Pay is good, benefits are outstanding. I'm pulling in almost as much a month as I was as a SSgt base pay, as well as my VA disability has kicked in, so my mortgage is covered. I was able to get out of the Corps mostly debt free except for the mortgages due to my temporary business venture, as well as other things, we were in the hole a good amount...was able to pay all of it off and now all we owe on are the houses...and our one in NC is under contract, with a great property manager. I'm working 7-5 M-F, and noon some saturdays..work is at worst 10 minutes from the house, so I really lucked out. I've been busy, so I haven't had a lot of time online. Trucks down, but as soon as I get the funding, I'm picking up another trans, triple disc clutch, 110 valve springs, and an ATI harmonic balancer...she should be better than new when I get her running.
  24. The drives haft I have now I had built by a local machine shop....150 out the door...
  25. And MNtom, good info, I'll keep it in mind. I can't remember exactly mileage right now but iirc I've got about 20-40k till due.
