Factory stereo amp location

Recommended Posts

I have an 01 2500 but recently changed the factory stereo, it finally gave it up. My problem is all but one of the speakers quit. There is supposed to be a factory amp somewhere and I can not find it. I have the harness to bypass the factory amp, which i think is the problem but I need help finding it. I have already replaced the new stereo I installed but that didn't help so it has to be the factory amp ??????? Also, I have replaced all the factory speakers. I really do not want to cut any wires, all the aftermarket stereo was installed using Metra connectors to save the wires. Cutting factory wires just leads to problems later on, or at least that is my opinion. Just cant see what would have caused three speakers to quit at the same time. Ahy help or ideas ?? Any advice will be appreciated.   :ahhh:

My son replaced the front speakers the other day. He cut the wires that were on the speaker/amp and butt connected them. The rear speakers and the speakers in the A post work by doing that. With out the amp and using the factory head there is no bass out of the front speakers but the rears sound fine.
