Hello to everyone. I am a Retired Eng., now a small time farmer/stockman, competative shooter/gunsmith, writer, and jack of all trades. When we moved back to the farm in '99, I got a '97 dakota which has served me well, but I always wanted a "Big Boy Truck". Well, here we go. It's a 2001 24V/auto, quad cab with 135K on it and in near showroom condition. It appears to be un-modified other than "jacked up .......but not for long. It will soon have a BHAF and clean exhaust. Seems to really like 2cycle oil to season its' diet, and is tempting me to fertilize my old "shade tree", which lost it's leaves years ago. The forum has already been a great help in extending my educatio…

Hello all.I just wanted to start a thread to say hi. I'm a loyal Diesel fan, and own a 99 Ram (see signature) and a 2001 VWJetta TDI with injectors, exhaust, chip etc. You just can't compare gas engines to the power and fuel economy that turbo diesel engines make especially when you slightly modify them. Not to mention the posability of making your own fuel (biodiesel) and supporting a soybean farmer right here in the USA. While i'm here introducing myself, is there anyone in the Great Falls, MT area with a Smarty that would want to let me borrow it long enough to download a tune and then remove the tune (leaving behind all of the factory computer upgrades like cold weat…

Hey guys I'm Konnor. I am from Hadley, Michigan. I am going tomorrow to pick up my 01 Dodge and am looking forward to learning more about these trucks. I have been a ford guy for a while, then tried a duramax, and its time for a cummins to say the least. Looking forward to getting to know y'all and learning some stuff! The truck I am picking up is a 2001 Dodge ram 2500 SLT quad cab long bed. It is an auto with a suncoast converter, billet input, and suncoast clutches. It has 150hp DDP injectors, Edge Juice with attitude, and an exhaust. It has 157,000 miles.

Howdy folks, I recently purchased an 01' 2500 SLT that's in absolutely immaculate condition. It's a Long bed with 3.54 gears, and it's 100% original minus a modest lift, aftermarket set of 16" wheels, 275/75/16 rubber, a raptor 150 lift pump and a nice set of mirrors. It's Black/Tan leather with chrome rocker panels. With 123k on it, its just getting broken in and I plan on driving it forever. This is my first diesel, first turbocharged vehicle, and first dodge. I've had it just over a month now and I've already got big plans. Top tier include a complete fluid change which is mostly done already, repairing the drivers side seat heater, and fixing a small chip…

Dakota to work the gas fields .After a break of course. Hi all, I'm Russ. I used to be on this site, and a few others. I'm from SE Idaho, lived by Firebird for a while. Now I'm in Encinitas, Ca. Quit my job and went back to school. As much as I love and miss Idaho it's pretty nice living a mile from the ocean.Anyway I've owned five brands of diesels, BMW, VW, Dodge, Chevy, and Ford. My current two being a '99 F250 and "our" 2011 Jetta TDI. I've still got my built Cummins engine sitting in Dads shop in Idaho, but haven't figured out whether to sell it or buy something to put it in.I better quit screwing off and get back to my math homework, so I'll end by saying I'm not the smartest guy around, but hopefully my experiences…

Hello everyone, my name is Hadley. I am 17 and looking to learn a little bit more. I am also a member on cumminsforum, and understand the basics of my truck. I usually read and try to learn anything i can, rather than posting. I have used this great site many, many times. I am currently working PT at a transmission shop in Provo, UT(trying to get the stock trans taken care of). I live and work on a farm, I enjoy hunting and golfing. Anyways enough about me...about the truck. I purchased my truck last year in June. It has been a learning experience for me. I also got a heck of a good deal on it, only $6,700. It has 176,000 miles, and was stock when i bought it. Currently i…

Howdy all, I've had my first Cummins, and diesel for that matter, for a few months now. Trying to learn as much as I can about these beasts. Found some of the best info on this forum so I decided to join. I've thrown a Mitusa pump and gauges on first thing. I hope to take advantage of all the knowledge and get all the other bugs worked out.

Hi everyone. My name is Russ, I'm in central Pennsylvania. I currently do not have a cummins, or any truck for that matter. But I am in the market for a new truck. I have always liked the sound, performance, mileage, and durability of diesel trucks. Right now I just doing research to see what I want, I'm thinking 99-02 2500 4x4 with manual trans.

Hey guys, I wouldn't say I'm not too "new" but this is my first post. My name's Curtis and I live in the Charlotte area of North Carolina. My truck is a 2002 24v auto. At 239k miles, my truck definitely has some developed character. I'm still learning all the quirks and nuances that comes from third-hand ownership and many miles. The end goal is a beasty daily sleeper. My most immediate concern is getting my fuel pressure up. I just installed some glowshift gauges and my FP is 6.5psi at idle and 3-4psi at a steady 2k rpm. I plan to put the stock banjo bolt back in and check to make sure its not the glowshift sensor. Anywho, I'll be seeing you.

Good afternoon! I figured I officially say hello. I've been a sponge for a couple years absorbing as much as I can from the wealth of knowledge here. Back in April my 99 2500 gave its life to save mine so in May I purchased a 2000 2500 and was finally able to drive it home in September!
