Everyone seems to know the IAT of a 24V, but I never see anything on a 12V. So I cut the IAT wires, soldered wires to them, ran them into the cab, crimped them onto my multimeter leads, and I was able to read Ohms while driving. I am still working on a calculator to see what temps I am seeing but so far here is what I have personally tested, I just need a way to connect the dots for the calc. I made a video of the test run. Engine wasn't started so I knew that 77F must have been 10kOhm. One thing to note is that the computer was smart enough to know it had no continuity in the IAT wire and the WTS light blinked the entire time the key was on. …

Stumpled upon a huge chart of BTU stuff on wikipedia. So I made it into something neat. BTU/Unit--Means how many BTU are in every unit, as in 1 gallon of the fuel or 1kw of electricity... To Equal Diesel--Means how far you could get on other fuels if they took the same 6475 BTU/mile that my cummins uses. This means a gasser should be getting 17.6MPG if it were the same efficiency. Miles--Means how many miles you could go if it were the same burn rate as I burn diesel. What I did here was took BTU/20[mpg] and got a base number (6475) which tells me it takes 6475 BTU's to go a mile. So then I used that baseline to use against everything else so the bas…

Just found this pdf which is very very detailed. http://transportation.centennialcollege.ca/oduffy/fuels/HD%20fuels%203/inline.pdf An interesting part is towards the bottom they talk about a PE7100. This is a P7100 that is computer controlled with dynamic timing. I can hardly find any info on this so it must have only been used on one application. I guess they used it on VMAC-I engines--Mack trucks.

There are several neat parts to this vid and I kept every part short and sweet so keep watching it if you hit a second thats boring I ran the initial 2 stroke test by dumping the fuel filter and priming it straight off the tank of 128:1, so there would be no leftover fuel messing up the ratio. The engine was completely warmed up on all tests. So first off we have the comparison in sound between regular #2, 2 stroke@128:1, and 2 stroke@2:1. All of these test were right at 1000RPM with the camera in the same spot. Then we have videos showing return line rates and how it works. Then we have a vid of me showing how I got 2:1. Pint of 2 stroke and quart of 128:1 that i…

Hey guys,I'm going to help a friend on his '98 12v to adjust the timing. I haven't messed with 12v Cummins too much and never adjusted the timing. I was wondering is there is a guide to it anywhere and pictures would be great too???:ahhh:Also what, if any, tools are required?? Any special tools that are Cummins tools or anything?? I've got a dial indicator so that isn't a problem but wasn't sure what else is needed???:shrug:Thanks,Winslow

A few of you know I have been building a way to do boost without messing with a boost elbow. I really want to see a video of how the elbow acts but I got my setup done now so you all can see how ate up it is If I did it again I would just use those quick lock hose things rather than the uh "configuration" I have. So the boost hits the relief valve, the relief valve opens at 35, and wastegate opens. After boost pressure goes down, pressure in wastegate side of the line relieves through the check valve. http://www.mopar1973man.com//isx97/Truck%20Stuff/Ryan's%20Dodge/Modified%20Pics/Boost.jpg I don't have any 5 mile long hills around here and as a result I was just …

Was trying to find idle RPM stuff and somehow got to banks, never been there so clicked around and came across statistics. So I went to this page; http://www.bankspower.com/products/show/138/31 At the bottom of that page: Maximum speed, hill-climb, towing (measured on a 7% grade) 47 mph (2nd gear) Test Vehicle: 1995 pickup with 5-speed manual trans So I did some figuring and I gave them the benefit of the doubt and put on stock 4x4 tires which I think are the 265/75/16. Even then, they would be doing 5371.8 RPM at that 47mph in 2nd. Even worse, 47MPH is 2951RPM in 3rd! Redline on 12v is 3000, with most of them being lower because of hard defueling. All of this w…

After clamping my wastegate and seeing how much quicker it goes over 20psi, I think I want to try a boost fooler so I can get up to 35psi quick but not go over 35. Anyone want to sell me one or know where the cheapest one is? I found one on ebay for $16.50. Figured I would see if any vendors sell them.

How do you tell the difference between a liquid propane regulator and gas propane regulator? I know they used LP regulators back in the day then it would turn into a gas later down the line.

So lets say its a 5k lb TT. What is your guys opinion as the best rpm to pull it at? Ignore speed since I know some of you guys do 70 at 1800 and others (me) do it at 2100. I just want to know what you guys think the best rpm is. I'm gonna say 1900-2000 since it is up where the turbo is spooling perfect but it's not high enough to be wasting fuel.

I have a friend with a 98 12 valve. His fuel pump is going out. He wants to put a stock pump back on for $500.00 (includes labor). I told him to get a lifetime pump from one of the three big guns. Are the fuel pumps on the 12 valves as bad as the 24 valves?

Just bought a 95 12v 5 speed with 278k miles, I've done general maint. to it, cut the factory exhaust off so could breath, put a K&N air filter on. I have noticed on this truck that it spins over more before it will crank than my 02 24v does. I would like a little info on that, and also what I can do safely to give it a little more power, since it has high mileage. Thanks for any info..

What I have done: 1. #6 Fuel Plate - Full Forward 2. Boost Elbow 3. 4" Full Exhaust 4. TC Lockup Switch 5. BHAF http://www.dieselpowermag.com/tech/dodge/1002dp_1994_to_1998_dodge_ram_power_recipes/1500_budget.html What I'm thinking of doing (in order): 1. Timing 2. 3K RPM Springs 3. Injectors I'm expecting my trans to blow up, so that will give me an excuse to go to a manual or build the 47rh. What I don't want to do is blow the head gasket, so I don't want so much power that requires me mod the head or valve springs.

I don't know anything about the clutch pedal or how to adjust it. Lately I have had to turn the engine off to get it to go into any gear when stopped. Has happened yesterday and today now. It's been flawless up till now so I think it just needs to be tightened up, but how do I do this? Do I just need to bleed it?

I found a daycab 1995 Freightliner FL70 with a 5.9 12v cummins and a eaton 9 speed transmission. Can you guys list any reason I should/should not buy this compared to a Cat 3216 motor or was is 3126... The Cummins only has 120k miles on the truck as well! I'm going to be pulling a 50 foot car hauler 3-4 cars and a 28ft container, but mostly for the car hauler.Thanks.Oh, and do all the mods swap to this truck that the regular road trucks do?
