I want to do a website shake-up. I've got a wild idea to make the reputation points mean something for the other members. I want to take the current reputation scores of everyone and zero them out. Then change up the reputation system to go positive and negative both. This way if you give out good info and people thank you or like your post then you gain score. If you just were lazy and half-baked your answer or just poor info then a person can give you Sad smiley and be a negative score. This would give better information to the public of whose information is on cue. Right now the website is just strict positive rank thing. I don't think that is fair or a ri…

I know that there is the post a picture of your truck going on right now. It got me thinking about how to improve the interaction of the members of the site. I've got an idea of a changeup. Like right now the Garage when a person creates a vehicle list it just drops into the garage forum that's the end of it. What if I broke down the Garage into the same layout of 1st, 2nd, etc Gen truck and then have the Garage drop the members truck in the proper forum. This way there is more focus on the member's trucks this way. Another idea I want to do is take the Articles do the same thing. So when members create new articles there is also forum post create…

I've just spent over 12 hours working at getting caching software installed on the Mopar1973Man.Com website. I'm pushing the boundaries hard where I was working from terminal and installing every bit of the software by hand. Being the hosting company and cPanel don't support caching software on PHP 7.2. https://forums.cpanel.net/threads/installing-memcache-and-memcached-with-easyapache4.566261/ Talk about an adventure getting this stuff installed. Wow!

I've done a few tweaks to the MySQL database setting to optimize the performance a bit more. More or less giving more memory for the MySQL server so it can buffer more information and make fewer calls to the server. I found an awesome tool I'll share with everyone. https://tools.percona.com/wizard This online tool will create an my.cnf setting file for your MySQL database with by filling in the information.

I changed the permission to the expire date/time so the person can enter there own expire date and time for there contact information. I've also added in comments and reviews from other members so they can give feedback on the experience of meeting you and get your help.

I think I've got a fix for those people with cellphones like mine where you can produce 6 to 8-megapixel photo and the site would randomly choke on the upload. Now I'm able t0 upload photos that are 10 megabytes in size. The server now will process them just fine. This should make the mobile folk happier for posting photos of things they are doing or working on with their cellphones.

I know some of you must have been seeing this randomly occurring and the site spitting back a page saying something went wrong with an error code EX0. It's one of the add-on programs and the sidebar widgets were acting up creating the error if you still see it happening please contact me and let me know what page you were on when it failed. Thanks...

I would like to apologize to everyone. This time its was my fault on the site being partially down. I remember seeing the email for the SSL certificate expiry date. But... I got sidetracked and been busy tending to MoparMom's needs and dialysis. The certificate expired and the method I typically handled the certificate was no longer working. So after two phone calls to the hosting company, the second tech was smart and guided me through the new method of purchasing the SSL certificate. Again, I'm sorry for making peoples lives hell trying to get on the website.

I want to say "Thank you" to all the members of Mopar1973Man.Com. We have broken the all-time record with over 181 new members for the month of January 2018. Again I got to say Thank You to the members out there because of your conversation and asking questions you are the ones that are doing the work and making the site visible on Google and other search engines. I'm just the guy in the back room pulling levers and making sure the software is up to date and so is the server. T H A N K Y O U

Being I'm closely watching the Google Analytics and Google Webmaster I've had to make some changes to the site to be more fitting to the members. The shocker is that we are mobile to desktop users is 2 to 1. Yeap for every 2 mobile users there is 1 desktop user. Being the mobile side is the strong bunch I started surfing more on my phone to get a feel for things. Navigation was a spot that was lacking. So I changed up the navigation layout for the site. The main places people go is Forum, Articles, Garage and the Store. So those are on top. Store is a catch-all for all money type transactions so this includes the classified ads as well. This should…

There is a new add-on that adds a small transparent arrow on the lower right of the screen for both desktop and mobile devices. This is a back to top button. So if you click or tap on the arrow it will scroll the screen back to the top rapidly then bounce like rubber ball a few times just for added effect. No more of the scroll with your finger or rolling the mouse wheel all the way to the top. You can clearly see the arrow in the lower right of this picture...

We are going to be adding more things to the store. Thanks, @Me78569 he found a good deal on alternator diodes so we'll be able to sell diodes for AC noise issues. The prices will be better than LarryB's! I'm working on sourcing out the bearing and brush kit as well for alternators. I'm going to start stocking Cummins vacuum pump seal kits in the store. Working on getting starter rebuild kits too. More too come...
